Nokia today announced the 3605, the world's first mobile phone with a rotary dial in place of a keypad. The phone sports a color display, Bluetooth, video playback, and MMS. Combining the best of new and old technology, the device also features an AM radio, and a real steel bell, providing a distinctive new alternative to polyphonic ringtones. The unique rotary dial continues Nokia's long-standing tradition of keypad "innovation". T9 predictive text entry is provided for SMS, although in keeping with the tradition of rotary dials, there is no provision for the letters "Q" or "Z".
