我用的事前好幾代的NC2400
因為他用的事1.8吋硬碟
除了硬碟慢一點之外..其他都很滿意

DELL 跟 HP, 它們在國外是大廠, 在北美幾乎電子賣場 like bestbuy 或是 futureshop 都有在賣, 換句話說, 要維修也很方便.

這兩台都是聯想的
維修上會比HP好的多吧

HP的據點其實幾乎都是做基本檢測
真的有問題還要後送
快則一個禮拜
慢就要一個月也是有的

買HP最好要先做過功課
去美國就買美國有上市的機種
要不然不收件的(商務機種不在此限)

lenovo我想就沒這個疑問

至於有的大大說國外比較便宜
其實是要看地方
美國是比台灣便宜的
但是再往北跑
就沒有了
其他地方我就不知道了

大大英文OK的吧
那不如去了之後再買吧
要中文輸入就自己帶片工具光碟去吧
自己另外灌就好了
DELL和LENOVO是比較推薦的

If you are comming to USA, Asus' service is actually noy bad here, even though they don't have local service centers. I live in NY, using A8JS, sent for repair twice (change LCD and Case). Both times I got it back within 4 business days. And if you buy Asus laptop in US, besides the 2 year global warranty, they give you first year an additional accidential warranty (in case you drop, wet, or some surge problems...), only in US. About Apple, well... USA has the lowest prices on Mac products in the world. And AppleCare has good reputations here. Otherwise, it's really up to the users.

這樣的挑選對於筆電的保固應該比較有利

If it is North America, then you should take a look at Dell's website. Sometimes they have really great discounts. (Inspirons starting at 500 USD... that's about 17000 TWD) With the money you save, you can buy 3-year next business day door-to-door service where Dell will send someone (Fedex?) to your door, pick up the notebook, bring it to Dell repair center to fix, then bring it back to you.

Toshiba is also good but be careful that sometimes for cheaper price, they will change the warranty from 3 year to 1 year.

Bottom line is, if you are travelling that far, you should take a look at after-service (warranty length, nearest repair center from where you live, repair terms etc.) Don't spend too much time on specifications. You're going to school, not a gaming exhibition. Getting your homework done on that notebook should be your first priority.

As for civicwei's situation, my recommendation is go to ASUS, HP, DELL, TOSHIBA Australia website and take a look at service webpage. See who has a repair center (or pickup service) nearest your school to start.
