Exactly. There is a special US version for D1. And the special AT&T version for TP1 is called "Fuze"

There isn't any HD (Australia version only support 850mzh), D2, TP2 to support US's 3G yet. Upcoming TP2 that support AT&T's 3G is called "Fortress".

Damn, how come Tytn II can support Tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100) while the latest HTC devices cannot???

分享一下小弟跟HTC詢問的記錄

小弟:貴公司在北美出產的機種的3G網路皆為850/1900MHz. 則在台灣賣的機種為900/2100MHz. 在HTC TOUCH Cruise 08之前的機種的3G網路皆為三頻支援2100 MHz (歐洲)、850/1900 MHz (美國)
之後的機種的3G網路皆只有雙頻並只支援 900/2100MHz. 也就是說如果我在北美使用需要購買北美機種, 回到台灣就要再購買台灣機種

HTC客服: 感謝您的來信回覆。
由於話機所支援的系統頻道屬硬體規格，
確實無法透過軟體或是程式進行修改，
客服專員於今日下午主動與您聯繫未果，
關於您此件來信反應的話機規格建議需求，
我們已轉達給技術部門參考並討論其執行性。

結論: 台灣購買的機種無法對應北美的3G 網路系統 850/1900MHz
住北美的大大只能在當地購買國貨了

無言耶.......想說剛剛有爬到其他文說刷rom可以有機會用北美3G...我看是沒望了!!!

美國也沒有賣插卡D1, 更不用說D2跟HD...因為根本沒有

....就算有也都是鎖機的....

美國也沒有賣插卡D1, 更不用說D2跟HD...因為根本沒有....就算有也都是鎖機的 << AT&T D1 accept GSM Sim. There will be AT&T version of TP2 (not sure about D1). And I seldom worry about simlock for HTC device since people from XDA will "handle" it in a matter of time....

There is no "true" D1 with AT&T........ AT&T FUZE is the only and wired device made by HTC. Why HTC made a "really" heavy and thick phone for AT&T... it looks so idiot.

Update:

HTC made D1 for U.S. market, but not for AT&T. There is no SIM slot for D1 in the States.

Why I still find the solution for idiot WCDMA 850/1900 frequency, because my friend flash Samsung i900 Omnia firmware to his i908, which is TW version. He made it, his i908 got 850/1900 frequency and used AT&T 3G network, so far so good.
