like other people, i'm shock to the shutter counts on you, 11 months for 90,000!! how can the people done it?

my 350D was 5years, shutter counts-->27074, and the 2 years old 450D only 9907

小小白IS在銳利度上或許比較好一點，但差別除非1:1放大看，不然其實並不明顯(1:1放大，也不明顯)

至於發色，那就更分不出來了，影響遠遠沒有如機身的相片風格等來得到，會扯發色，大都心理因素或自我感覺良好居多...XD

我之前做的比較 55-250 vs 小小白IS vs 300mm F4L IS USM 以及這裡
除了那支十幾年的含鉛鏡頭 300mm F4L IS USM 在發色上真的明顯到一看就知道，其他的，小小白IS跟55-250基本上根本是分不太出來的

好吧~我認了~55-250的成像真的跟小小白相差很近, 我只是不能接受兩者之間相差了整整20張小朋友XP

Have you noticed that there are minor difference between copies of 55-250mmIS? My copy was excellent on my 550D and my friend's 450D (let's call it copy A). However, my friend B's 55-250mmIS does not seem right. His copy of 55-250mmIS is not sharp and contrast is low (let's call it copy B). I guess I was lucky to have a good copy. With all due respect to dear Candyz's claim that he or she believes his or her copy of 55-250mmIS's optical performance is very very identical to EF70-200mmF4ISUSM; I have to say it is very possible. My friend C has this EF70-200mmF4IS and it is a good copy and a great lens it is . Before I give out my 55-250mmIS, we sort of compared his EF70-200mmF4IS to my 55-250mmIS. Guess what? Both seem pretty much the same to us at 100mm~200mm focal length. Please remember, that was my good copy. My friend B's 55-250mmIS is not so lukcy at all. Friend B's 55-250mmIS loses the optical battle to friend C's EF70-200mmF4IS in nearly every aspect of image quality in terms of sharpness and contrast. So, I guess there is a minor difference between older version and newer version of 55-250mmIS. My copy is newer one for your information.

Now that's talk about my 7 months old Tamron A005. I was one of the few lucky guy to get this lens at its debut in Taiwan. I of course compared A005 to my 55-250mmIS in real life photo sessions. PS. I don't do birds shoots nor bug shoots nor any other macro shoots, I only do portrait shoots with A005 and nothing more.

Man, the difference is huge. With USD on A005 I can now increase the success rate of capturing my twin son's movement in park. The A005 produces yet amazing sharnessabove 135mm focal length when compared to my 55-250mmIS. It is so obvious you can see right from both camara LCD and computer LCD. My A005 simply knocks out 55-250mmIS in no time. That is when my 55-250mmIS started sitting in the house doing nothing and waiting for his finall days.... --> That is also the main reason why I give it out to this Mobile01 user cause he needs it and he needs it for taking picturs of his 1 year old daughter. I like his attitude of using his camara for family purpose. hahaha

In addition to A005's good performance on sharpness and contrast, A005 produces this rather unique bokeh which in my opinion is super nice for portrait works. In my opinion, I think A005 at F6.3 gives me better bokeh than B005 at F3.6 and my C15-85mmIS at F6.3. I really like the bokeh from A005 when I do portrait works. For your information, my no.1 favorite portrait lens is Tamron A09 at F3.6.

Now, we know that my A005 totally knocks out my 55-250mmIS in sharpness and contrast. Let's talk about color. In my opinion, I like Tamron A005's color more. It is hard to describe A005's color performance but all I can say is that it is a long lasting color which does not make you bored. It is like sake, not as strong as whisky but has more flavor than wines and beers.

So, anyway, let me sum up this long lengthy post for your reference.

1. 55-250mmIS is like every other lens, you could get good a good copy nd you could get a bad copy.
2. A good copy of 55-250mmIS performs almost as good as EF70-200mmF4IS optically on APSC.
3. IMHO, A005 is now my no.1 OUTDOOR telephono lens for portraits due to the fact that it produceds exxcellent sharpness and contrast and pleasant bokeh. Plus, A005 is light compared to L lenses.

By the way, someone thinks that I push shutters like machine guns. Well, YES, I do push my shutters like machine guns. What could I do? I got twin boys at age of 1.5 years old and they ROCK my house every minutes of the day when they are awake. Besides, 550D is bought for capturing my twin boy's growth memory. I really have to say my 550D has served me pretty well in this matter. I strongly believe I would still push shutters like crazy to capture my twin boy's action even if I bought 5DII. Afterall, what does camara mean to me? A camara is a tool for me to capture my family life in still images. Other than that purpose is fullfilled, I don't really care about shutter counts.
