TTL-AREA-SIR AF-dedicated CMOS sensor
Area AF with 45 AF points
- 8 mm x 15 mm
- All 45 AF points are horizontal-line sensitive at f/5.6 (vertical). Thirty-nine of the 45 AF points are vertical-line sensitive at f/2.8 for cross-type focusing. For automatic AF point selection, cross-type focusing with 19 AF points is used. (The 39 cross-type AF points are used only during manual AF point selection.)
- When using some f/4 lenses (including when using f/2.8 lens + Extender 1.4x), cross-type focusing with 39 AF point is possible.
Metering Range EV -1-18 (at 50mm f/1.4 lens at ISO 100)
簡單而言, 有45對焦點, 39十字點. 可是十字點的垂直部份必須要接光圈比f2.8大的鏡頭才能作用. 而且只有19點可以相機自動選擇. 某些f4.0鏡頭, 39十字點有可能也可以使用 (但Canon沒特別講哪幾顆).
這是D3s的對焦系統:
Autofocus TTL phase detection, 51 focus points (15 cross-type sensors) by Nikon Multi-CAM 3500FX autofocus module.
Detection: -1 to +19 EV (ISO 100 at 50mm), fine adjustment possible.
Focal-plane contrast [in Live View (Tripod) mode]
All 15 cross-type sensors retain the same outstanding level of performance with any NIKKOR lens as fast as f/5.6 to properly support professional photographers.
簡單而言, 有51對焦點, 15十字點. 所有的對焦點, 包括15十字點只要在f5.6光圈以上就全部都可使用 .
總之, 若以十字點數來說, Canon較多, 然而它的"但書"也一堆就是了!

過去，大兔除暗部對焦較差外，其就算外圍一堆一字也不會在準度和穩定性比中下階機身差，因為很多中下階反應速度很快，但對焦不一定是準和穩，後續機種有些對焦反應其實變慢一些，但準確度變大許多!
從歷史C家開始推多點對焦已經一段時間，最大變化是大三和小三時期把十字對焦點推至外圍圈， 小四更是增加39點十字，卻留下奇怪6點下來，不曉得是技術還是商業考量造成!
D3就是類似過去大兔(中央9點+36點外圍一字)加強版，D3X\D3s又加強原本D3對焦能力 !
另外離題一下
目前看起來是NIKON會順延CANON路發展上去，可能會推個小三或小四把十字推進外圍區塊，看NIKON乳摸好像在測試D4，謠言傳說一個具有中等高畫素，平衡高ISO與高性能的機身即將出生!
