Honda Pilot 2007 (Added new pictures - March 9th 2007)

I just purchased a Honda Pilot 2007 on the Chinese New Year eve (2/17/2007).

I love the car but the dealership seems a pain in my @$$. :(

Well, I purchased a Honda Care (extended warranty) and GAP coverage, and wanted to cancel it. After I submitted my cancellation request, and I have not been able to reach the person who sold me those coverages. (either he is unavailable, or he is with customers.. etc etc..)

anyway.. I love this SUV.

What a nice car!
It seems to be better than my CRV2.

Mike,

Do you care to share some of the pictures of your CRV?

One of my wife's friend's husband purchased a new CRV. it looks pretty nice.

It should have been, cuz the Pilot is a mid-sized SUV where the CRV is only a compact SUV; they are 2 different leagues, dimension, power and ameneties wise.

Though, can't help but notice that the Pilot is heavily skewed towards US design cues; it look and feels like a refined Ford Explorer, rather than a pure-bred Japanese-bred SUV like the CRV, RAV4 (last-gen) and Vitara.

Care to share its power tran info? We dont have these in Taiwan.
dear superfire:
what a nice SUV!!!! it really catch my eyes totally. would u pls share more pictures about ur new SUV??

by the way, what a quality of honda key chain.

Yea, 2007 and previous generation of Honda Pilots look alike the Ford Explorer and other mid-size SUVs.

I heard they would be a redesign of the 2008 Honda Pilot and it would look similar to Acura MDX. However, I don't think I could wait for that long. Additionally, the redesign of 2008 Honad Pilot is still a "rumor".

Also, the one I purchase is a Gray, which it is a new car for year 2007 model.

By the way, based on edmunds.com, CRV is classified as a "mid-size" SUV. May be they have increased the cargo space.

Power Tran Info:

Base Number of Cylinders: 6
Base Engine Size: 3.5 liters
Base Engine Type: V6
Horsepower: 244 hp
Max Horsepower: 5600 rpm
Torque: 240 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4500 rpm
Maximum Towing Capacity: 4500 lbs.
Drive Type: AWD
Turning Circle: 38 ft.

Here are few things I like

front, rear and third row head airbags
passenger airbag occupant sensing deactivation
remote anti-theft alarm system
tire pressure monitoring
emergency braking assist (how?)
8 person total seating capacity (3 rows)
7 total speakers (with a sub-woofer in the cargo area)
5-star car crash testing

I will take some more pictures over the weekend. It has been a busy week at work :(

Well, the keychain looks nice to me too. I found out they sell it for US$5 from the dealership which I purchased my SUV from.
Nice...3.5L V6 with juicy torque (though, max torque peaks at 4500, a little too high for serious towing and off-roading)

congrads on the purchase, care to share more photos of the dashboard and center console?

oh, and the Pilot is a column shifter or floor shifter?

Thanks!

*ha, it would be utterly inconvenient to drive the Pilot in Taipei city, but it'd be really cool being seen doing so...

Hi MotoNTD,

It is a column shifter. I never liked the column shifter and I feel like I am a taxi cab driver or driving an American truck.

I have read some reviews complaining about the towing capability. Someone might expect to tow a small boat and stuff like that. I hardly have anything to tow thou. In the future, if I would need to tow a boat, I might consider to purchase a (at least) V8 and able to tow to 10,000 lbs. From the owner manual, I would need to add the different cooling system in order to tow more than 4500lbs (to prevent the engine and transmission overheat).

I will take some more pictures this weekend and share with others here :)
