這次總共推出四顆引擎:
1. GLS450, with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
2. GLS550 and you get 455 hp (20 more than before) and 516 lb-f of torque.
3. GLS350d, good for 255 hp and 455 lb-ft
4. 旗艦版 GLS63, with 577 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque.
一如預期,標準版採用 4Matic all-wheel drive and 九速自排變速箱 with additional settings.
AMG 版採用 rearward-biased traction system and a 七速 dual-clutch gearbox instead.
標準款採用新改良的氣壓懸吊避震系統, 而 AMG GLS63 則是採用 Sport+
另外, 仍然有提供越野差速器等變速及相關懸吊選配
安全配備方面, 有新的電子安全系統; 包括 Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Crosswind Assist with Attention Assist, Brake Assist BAS, Pre-Safe braking 等
選配有 Driver Assistance package adds Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, pedestrian detection, cross-traffic assist, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist 等
此外, 還有 intelligent LED lighting system and heated adaptive windshield wipers
