If you are looking for 50K car, I think BMW is an excellent choice. You don't need to pay any maintainance during first 4 years. a big plus.
my pick would be BMW 5 series. great car. u can enjoy it for a long time.

I tried to build my C class (C280) and 5 series (528i) online. But after select several options, the price of 528i is over 50K.
I also check South Bay BMW in Torrance CA, I found the list prices of 5 Series are all over 50K.
Here comes several questions to me. Can you give some idea about ...
1. normally can we nego the price with dealer? what is the discount we can get if I wnat to pay in cash?
2. what is the extra cost that I have to pay? (such as tax? insurance? licence? ...or others. Say if I bought a 528i or C280)
Thanks for your assistance

1. People can definitely nego the price with dealer.
It did not matter to pay in cash or finance.
If you wanna get a better price, choose the car they have in stock, and not to special order.
2. If the MSRP is over 60K, there will be a extra Lux Tax.
Otherwise, insurance + license fee..... are normal
3. To buy a car in US is totally different from the experience in Taiwan, and the skill is also different. It's common to spend 5 hours to nego the out-door price.
My suggest: ask your colleague or friend to go with or for you.
