people expect this car's selling price to be over $100K. in that price range, it will compete with
1. Audi R8. which is a good looking car
2. Porsche 911 turbo. a legend in this catagory. but slowing losing it's advantage due to 6 cylender engine.
3. Limbogini Gallendo. A great looking car. but having come reliablity issue.
4. Auston Martin. DB9.
5. F430. a great looking car. race track proven.
I think the success is heavlily depends on the asking price. If the car is less than 100K, maybe Luxus will find some buyers. on the other hand, if they are asking $120K and above. people will just spend a little more and get a F430.

我不住在美國所以不是很清楚北美法拉利的行情，不過上北美的網站看了一下，F430的MSRP都在17萬美金以上，而且如果北美法拉利跟台灣一樣缺車缺很兇的話，搞不好17萬還買不到。
如果LF-A開個10萬，就跟自家的LS600h一樣價錢，從定位的眼光來看，花這麼久時間開發第一台LEXUS純跑車，定個跟LS600h一樣價錢，感覺上價值感低了一點。所以我覺得LEXUS如果真的放V10在這台LF-A上面，而且對這台車的性能也真的很有信心的話，開個12萬美金直接挑戰Porsche 911 turbo，我覺得還滿合理的，畢竟R8也要10萬了。

in that price range. people will NOT consider c/p ratio. it's all about pure performance and status. One is constantly on the pole position in F1 racing and the other hardly get into top 10. I think the difference is rather big.
as for V10 R8. according to CEO of Audi USA, it will NOT happen anytime soon. he said that the V10 engine is simply too big (too long) for R8's body. It is NOT a drop and go situation. Instead, they will need to heavily modify the R8 body in order to fit a V10 inside, and they are not planning to do that anytime soon.
anyway, i think the super car from Lexus is good for customers in the long term. when Lexus prove to people that it is possible to have performance and reliability at the same time. it will give great pressure on companies like Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Aston Martin.

too bad the v10 r8 isn't going to happen anytime soon. however, after watching Car and Driver: R8 vs 997 Turbo vs V8 Vantage and numerous comparison articles in magazines and online, the v8 r8 actually performs quite well. although it was dynoed at only around 340hp at the wheel, it still is a true performer. as to the lf-a, let's hope lexus really does bring performance and reliability together.

Toyota unveiled a plan to introduce the Lexus LF-A sports car into the Chinese market in early 2008.
