我今天在Best Buy 買了一台 samsung LCD HDTV 40''
(美國買的) ，我主要用途是當電腦主機的螢幕。因為介紹上面有說這台當電腦螢幕不錯
回來後 發現主機太舊了沒有可以和HDTV接的線，SO 去買了一個顯示卡，有支援 pc in
可是因為那台主機是華碩扁扁的主機，所以也裝不下，長度也不同。
後來我拿我NB來接螢幕，用旁邊的 S-video 街到HDTV 轉換畫面之後，差點昏倒= =
模糊到想吐血... 沒有一個字看的清楚，我解析度也調過 可是只有800*600 and 1024*768
這兩個選項可以選。
But 我看 Ryan Lai 大大有發過 看他的NB也是接HDTV 可是畫面的字超清楚。
難道samsung不好嗎? 有大大指點哪裡出問題嗎?

因符合早期廣播通訊協定(NTSC,PAL....等)
其本身資訊傳送的解析度並不高（只有400-500條）
因此S端子本身所能傳送的資訊流量也是400-500條（頻寬不夠）
所以S端子的解析度連VGA（800*600）都不到
大大看到的字當然會模糊
大大解決的方式應該是不要透過傳統”電視用”的影像端子
要直接用D-SUB、DVI或是HDMI
所以說，大大的LCD TV out put如果是
1.D-SUB，當然沒問題，直接接起來用（看樣子你的不是這種）
2.DVI，買有DVI輸出的顯示卡（你好像提到買了但裝不進主機）
3.HDMI，解決方法同上，但是要多買一條HDMI轉DVI的線，不過最近聽說有HDMI的顯示卡了

These Samsung have good performance for its value and if you just use it as a TV, espeically if you have HD feed, it is doing a very good job. The picture quality is almost identical to Sony's XBR2/3 for about 80% of the price. I almost pull the trigger to get 4695 the other day for about $2800 shipped.
However, it is not a perfect PC monitor though. First of all, if you connect your computer to the LCD TV via S video, no matter which brand of LCD TV you have, I don't think you are going to get a satisfying picture. You should at least try VGA or better yet, DVI (DVI PC ->HDMI TV) to get a good picture. The drawback for Samsung when connecting to PC is that they overscan. What this means is that you will lose about 2% of the screen i.e. if you run @ 1920 x 1080 you will not see some part of the screen. You will need to run the video output @ ~ 1881 X 1059 to see the full screen.
I think the best LCD here in the US for both TV and PC uses are Sony's XBR2/3, Sony's recenlty introduced V2500 (no VGA support @ 1920x1080) and upcoming Sharp's D62 series in October. Sharp's spec is very intersting and you will be surprise for the price they are offering..

大大看起來對D-sub有些誤會
你現在電腦螢幕的port應該就是VGA（或是DVI）
VGA跟D-sub講的其實是同一種介面
所以只要是for VGA的cable都是D-sub的，只是有公母之分
至於所謂的轉接線
HDMI 及 DVI 都是數位訊號，所以有HDMI 轉 DVI的cable
但是好像沒有HDMI轉D-sub（類比訊號）線的這種cable耶
所以說如果你的電視是HDMI的話
你的desk top一定要有DVI輸出
至於你的lap top可能就無解了
