Firstly, many MBA are two-year program, and in the second year u will have more elective courses. Under this situation, when taking the elective courses in a specific( Finance, Operation....) area above a limit, they call themselves something( Finance, Operation....) major. Otherwise, u are generalist. However, normally that amount of elective course wil be approximately the same amount as the core and elective courses u take in a specific master( finance).

Generally, MBA will be harder than u only have master with a specific area ( finance....).

On the other hand, there are also many different degrees in business school( Information management, Finance, Marketing....). It really depends on what u want.

2.因為我是男生 有兵役問題 有考慮畢業後先當完兵(男生當完兵後再去美國唸完畢業後好像有一年工作機會??) 然後工作2年左右(聽有在美國唸MBA的人說 他們申請條件有工作經驗至少兩年??) 再出國唸研究所 不知道有沒有男生可以給我一些經驗或建議??

I would work for few years at least 2 for real full-time job if I were u. Due to the reason that MBA programme is highly pratical, u would really have more back if u have solid working experience.

Of course, military service can be taken into account, but it really depends on what u do and how u persuade the professors that this experience can be one of u working experience instead of an obligation.

Furthermore, more and better workign experience will help a lot to have u accepted by a well-known school when u have a insufficient GPA, GMAT, TOFEL.

Finally, actually less and less MBA students have solid working experience in USA ( normally 2 years full-time). However, if u check their resume u would find out a lot people work for 4 years even more in enterprises during college, which means that is a part-time job. Therefore, u probably can work on this direction before u graduate to accumulate ur working years. In addition, more and more junior and senior managers take EMBA instead of MBA. MBA is not for managers anymore.


3.美國研究所申請是看TOFEL和GMAT還有在校成績 假如在校成績不太優 申請成功率如何???
Eveything takes into account. Some schools care more accedic background than other requirements; nevertheless, GMAT can make it up in some certian level. However, TOEFL is an indication that ur English is good enough for this programme, but GMAT is an indication of ur future acedemic performance. Therefore, if u want to study in USA, u have to make sure ur English level reaches the lowest standard, but if u can not perform GMAT well, this would show ur imcompetence from this program, although I hate this indication.

What is really important for MBA students is that u have to show why u qualifiy even with insufficient socre in above 3. Then, ur resume and autobiography should be well delivered. Also show why ur personal traits fit this program.



4.比較爛一點的問題 TOFEL是不是補過了 就會考得不錯??? 要申請至少都要幾分呢???

Normal school at least 213(cbt), want to be better at least 250. top 50 will be better at least 270.

我應該只考慮州立大學 私立的(NYU?)真的好貴
