在Design-in階段要先跟RD接觸,新Project願意使用貴公司的item,可能在sample run, pilot run, even engineer run各階段要提供free sample;當然RD願意使用會此料都會考量,價格、Lead Time長短...等各種因素。再來是客戶採購下單,若產品有competitor且價格又低,那麼即使Design-in也可能無法拿到大單變成Design-win。
I think there is no specific design-in process unless a company creates one. Here is my suggestion:
1. Presentation (Present your products with top managers' participation (your company) for the client) 2. Audit trip (Invite the client to visit your factory / office / warehourse if possible) 3. Free samples (deliver free samples for client's evaluation) 4. Follow-up (frequently cowork with the client for test results / concerns) 5. Trial run (Hopefully the client would agree to give your products a trial run) 6. And finally, mass production
COMMUNICATION between you and the client must always be well managed whenever possible and remember one thing: customers are always right. Before the price is agreed upon by both sides, give yourself and the client some "cushion" for negotiation.
