If we have to talk about the weight....
I can not deny the Sony is a winner.
BUT, BUT...
Let us Campare more between them;
I just campare sony, which has the same hardware with SZ and the Basic level of MBP.
If Both of them has:
1. Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.16 GHz
2. 1 GB DDR-SDRAM SZ: (DDR2-533, 1 GBx1) MBP: 1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 1x1GB
3. 120 GB Hard Disk Drive
4. Wireless LAN, please do remember, MBP is 802.11 n
What is the price of SZ? $2975.98 !!
How about the MBP? $1999.00 !!
(Both of them are without the TAX!)
What's different? MBP's screen is 15.4" inch and Sony is 13.3 inch.( I did not talk about the quality of that)
If you want to add the office on SZ, you have to pay more $ 180
If I have more $180, I can buy both iwork and Microsoft Office!
OK! so far, as you know what's different between them, for me, money is very very important issue.
If I have $2975.98, I can add more to my MBP, (upgrade to 200G hd, more software...)
yes! of course, weight is important,
How about that... save more money to buy a good and comfortable computer backpack!

I just campared the hardware and price,
If you want to campare the OS system,
Well..... how many times we already saw two group's people fighting each other for their own OS system? Does Windows is better? or OSX is better?
ok, beside some softwares that have to run by windows, what will you do with your notebook?
Go to website? I have Camino, Firefox, and Safari.
Office system? I have iwork, If you like, even you can put Office for Mac.
etc..............................................
in fact, you can do most of anything with it.
If, I mean, If, you cannot live without Windows, MAC has bootcamp even though it is just Beta version. (Peosonal, I don't recommand)
Finally, I will tell you, even if the MBP is $ 3000, I will still want it. Why????
1. Don't ask me what is Virus, because I don't care and I save my time to clear virus.
2. I save A LOT OF TIME to figure out how to use Windows!!
3. I don't have to face again the "dead blue", yes, even though sometimes the "rainbow ball" running for while, I don't have to worry about my document is lossing or gone.
4. Of course, TIME IS MONEY!!!!

chiaho兄表示願意學習，那就沒問題啦，我覺得switch的關鍵就是有沒有心學習
其實windows沒那麼難，mac也沒那麼簡單（其實我覺得都很簡單，連小學生都會用windows大家還嫌難？）
節省時間的問題，應該說win跟mac各有浪費時間的地方
不會用或功力不強或使用習慣不良的人用win會當機會中毒，要浪費時間搞系統
用mac會花時間花錢在修電腦，包電腦，吹電腦，捧電腦，玩電腦，追蹤蘋果週邊新聞，有些人還天天關心什麼special event或"apple store coming soon"
兩者一比，我發現用mac還比較浪費時間
總而言之，我覺得你可以嘗試一下，光是Mac OS就值得啦！

I admit people that knows crap about the logics of Operating Systems complain about OS X or mac machines, because they DON'T UNDERSTAND the basic logics of any operating systems, they are basically a set of commands you executed, for most users the difference we actually see is in the interface, how many ORDINARY people actually use terminal to type in command lines? or MS terms DOS command prompts? Learn the new interface like you would learn how to read and write.
A word of advice to the potential switchers, don't be afraid to switch like I did, even it's for the reason, IT LOOKS GOOD!!!!!!! But be prepared to put in the time and effort to learn a new operating system before you start bitching about it!!!!
Another thing, I have bootcamp running XP on my MBP, I use it to run MS Office, CS2 and AutoCAD. These are the main reasons I use a computer anyway, sadly, Office and CS2 are not yet available in UB, and AutoCAD? completely impossible, even if there are other subsitute drafting sofwares, I wouldn't want to use them, too much of a hassel converting between file formats, not to mention the problem with converting files...
So, lets recap:
1. I bought MBP mainly because how good it looks on the OUTSIDE
2. I bought MBP because it can boot into XP natively
3. I never used OS X before in my life
4. I use XP about as much as I use OS X
I bought MBP for all the wrong reasons, but I still think it's a great computer. These are all the reasons people are adviced NOT TO BUY the new intel macs, but yet I am a happy switcher, is that strange for all of you who are telling people not to switch for those reasons?
It's just a MACHINE, treat it like one not treating it like a BELIEF! It'll do what you tell it to do!!! not the other way around, I am sick of seeing people say, it's a mac, it doesn't do that, you are better off with a PC, well guess what? It runs XP or Linux natively through bootcamp, it can do basically anything!!!! who are you to tell people they are better off with a PC?!
Haven't been here for very long, just my thoughts on this subject, if I offended anyone, I apologize in advance
