Very first analysis: The EFI-X module is made of nothing special at all. The module uses only one USB-port. The second USB-port of the mainboard connector is unused and not connected (See the backside photos). There are a microcontroller (64pin TQFP package, maybe it's a CPLD/FPGA), a 8 MHz ceramic resonator, a 5V to 3.3V DC-DC converter and a flash memory (presumably 256MB). The PCB seems to be a 4 layer.
The above information is from AsereBLN's blog, detailing his long term experience with the EFI-X module. What's most alarming is that based on talks with manufacturers in Taiwan, this module, with the exact components, would cost no more than $10 to produce under volumes of 1000.
AsereBLN went ahead and attempted to read the OS X Syslogs and kextstat output revealing some details of the firmware used on the EFI-X module. His findings? EFI-X uses code taken straight from the OSX86 community, without attribution. In fact, it was discovered that the .kexts (kernel extensions) files used by the EFI-X modules were nothing more than community made patches that were patched up to conceal their origin."
在當下是被認為EFI-X 1.0不過是隨身碟+一些軟體保護機制所以你不能讀出來.下面一段則是說從讀出來的 firmware中有疑似OSX86 community的code. 原作者"AsereBLN "被ASEM告因為他打開了USB碟及試著decode裡面的東西. 不過 Tomshardware 的原始報導網站都還在(應該是Tomshardware 比較有錢告不倒?). 所以此事到底是不是真的就留給大家去判定了

After an short research for the real background of Tuan Ngyen many dark secrets have being revealed.
Tomshardware主編Tuan Nguen其實就擅於黑函製造與攻及各種不是報導側寫,這些都是慣用手法,可以輕易在網站上找到他對各品牌的攻擊..(也要可以引起話題性的品牌).增加自己平台報導流量,無異於八卦週刊或是小報的表現方式。

ASEM is not the first company attacked by Tuan Ngyen after he got position at Toms Hardware.
He uses mainly his Toms Hardware position and connections in order to get products and information for his own IT-company.
If the company rejects him the cooperation, so the defamation article appears, additionally he will use other ways in order to show his "appreciation".
His style of releases is simple build:
He write defamative articles mainly from the 3rd person view, also in order not to be liable for the defamation he spread around.
It wasnt also difficult to discover, that he uses some female, high ranked personel at companies like Gigabyte etc., for his own business purposes. (Connections, Information and more)
We are sincerly sad for the persons have being misused by Tuan Ngyen and for persons against whom this person wrote defamative articles.
ASEM official offices accept any additional and new information regarding illegal activities of Tuan Ngyen and will offer to the informants all the necessary anonymity and protection.

Fake dissection / Dissassembling of EFiX made by Asere-BLN (Jurgent Selent, Berlin, Germany)
The article about Asere-BLN’s dissection is a fabricated article.
Most of information he got was from ex. ASEM programmer, who got banished from the company due to continuously leaking information to hackintosh community.
Because of security policies in ASEM, the programmer had very limited access to some of software modules and resources. About hardware, that programmer had only theoretical information, given by one of higher positioned officials. The leak of information has never come close to core information and the real product. This also explains why nobody hacked EFiX solution till today.
The source of leaked information was confirmed without effort, due to the claims one the article were based on information provided to this programmer, while he was working for ASEM.
Needn’t to be a professional engineer, amateurs will understand the information released by Jurgen Selent is fake, and resulted in trolling-articles finally.
Facing this trouble, ASEM took steps- lawyers have contacted Asere-BLN, and he was required to take his calumnious article down. The final words from Asere-BLN, also Jurgen Selent, on his website and his "underground" actions afterwards were recorded by ASEMs Law Team, among other interesting information, are currently stored in ASEMs Law Department.
