Microsoft is expected to release new Windows in 2011 or 2012, which will give Vista about 5 year life.
Steve said to NY times that we might expect at least 2 major release of OSX before we see the new Windows.
I think many people are only first time Mac user so far, if you pay for Leopard now and after a year, you need to pay again in order to upgrade to new OSX, many people will not be happy.
and let's not forget, ONCE new OSX release, Apple will STOP updating old one!
ps, i am a both Mac and PC user. have been this way for 3.5 years already. I love both system. so don't attack me personally just because i have different opinion.

我觉得apple对于Machine based on PPC用户的照顾已经做的很不错了~Rosetta足见apple的良苦用心，起码apple自家的软体都能够平稳运行在两种架构上，bootcamp也不能责怪apple，而在于新旧两种处理器本质上的隔阂，即使针对power的bootcamp真的有发布，也找不到可以在Power处理器上运行的Windows来组双系统啊~
关于免费的问题，我以为apple作为一家消费硬件销售为主的企业，软体业务只是服务于它的硬件销售策略的。像Sun、Redhat这样的公司主要面对的是企业应用，他们把旗下的OS免费交给社区开源很容易理解，因为开放源代码可以吸引开发人员，提升企业客户对他们产品的关注度。而以消费者个体为对象的apple没有类似的需要把OSX开源，也就谈不上免费了。实际上期盼Mac OSX免费比梦想微软把Windows贡献开源更不实际，因为微软的企业业务也很庞大。
