Are you using Sharing mode of Virtual PC’s network and is unable to connect to anything that is related to Microsoft (including Microsoft.com , MSN.com and Windows Live Messenger)?

I have experienced such problem also. Make sure you have the newest version of Virtual PC and all of its updates installed.

If the problem is still there, use the Bridge mode of Virtual PC networking to connect to Windows Update and apply all the updates.
Hope this can help you.

P.S. I think Windows 2000 is better than XP in VPC as it does not tax the system as much.

Hi, Dear friend,

I am sorry that I don't know what is the Bridge Mode.

Would you mind tell me the process?

In addition, please tell me every details, please....

According to the system's language that my computer is Chinese, it would be better if you can decribe in Chinese

Thank you soooo much

Dear friend,

I no longer have my PowerBook G4 with me now since I swap it with a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo.

Go to Preference of Virtual PC
Then go to Network Options

There should be two choices. The first choice is “Share Connection”, and the second is “Bridge”.

Select Bridge model means let the Virtual machine to use your PowerBook’s Lan Card directly. If you use PPPoE to connect to Internet, you would have to setup PPPoE inside Windows XP of the Virtual Machine.

In this way, your Virtual machine’s Windows XP will be directly connected to the Internet. (Your OS X would be kicked offline)

Dear Friend,

My Virtual PC already update to the newest one.

The Networking option just shows Share networking and "Virtual Switch"

I choose the Virtual Switch and set up the PPPoE.
However, the Windows shows me that "Error 769: **********"

I really tried many time, However, I still cannot connect the internet...

Would you mind tell me more detail?

Thanks\
What kind of connection do you use to connect to Internet?

Airport? LAN DHCP? PPPoE ?

Make sure you select the right Adapter that you wish to connected to while you select Virtual Switch.
