現金買iPad 蘋果拒售
舊金山的KGO-TV報了一則新聞:蘋果位於Palo Alto的直營店拒絕一位殘障女士購買iPad。
為何?理由是該女士沒有信用卡,想用現金購買。
根據報導,這位殘障女士Diane Campbell存了好幾個月的錢後,決定購買iPad來上網,她來到蘋果商店,把iPad拿到櫃臺,掏出現金結帳,但店員拒絕賣給她。

Yes, this incident is true.
However:
1. This article was obviously written by an Apple hater.
2. It's not about her disability, it's about credit card being the only payment option.
3. Regarding 2, there's nothing in the American constitution that says a vendor HAS TO accept cash.
So no fault on Apple's part, but bad publicity anyway. One of those "genius" should have lent her his credit card.

From Apple web site:
"Your recipient can redeem the iPhone Gift Card on the Apple Online Store and get a fully activated iPhone delivered right to their door. Or they can come into an Apple Retail Store where one of our Specialists will activate their new iPhone, set it up, and provide expert advice."
This has been like this long time ago, since 3G launch if I remember correctly.
