I would like a Galaxy SII because of so many reasons. Let me share some with you.
I often times drive with my mom all over. She always tells me she knows the roads, and I often make the mistake of believing her. After a while, she stops every few KM and tells me to ask for directions from people since she doesn’t know the way. When we are in rural areas, this means I either get to talk to convenience store employees or betel nut ladies. I’ve already met enough friends, so I would like a device with GPS to help me not have to stop every time my mother needs help with driving. My chinese is not very good so I would appreciate a device that I can show people as a map or allow them to write on it and have it search for locations. With GPS and aGPS, the 2nd generation Galaxy is one of the best GPS phones available. The screen is so big and colorful even my mom can use it with her 65 year old eyes.
As a student, I value having a very quick Chinese-English dictionary. With Android and the fastest dual core CPU available, I know that it will be a great tool for me to learn Chinese. I can also practice writing characters using the Chinese touch input method.Even If I do not have time to write things down, I can take high quality pictures of Chinese phrases to refer and study later.
Speaking of pictures, I do look forward to taking pictures with the 8MP camera. It has a LED flash so I’ll be able to take pictures even when it starts to get dark. A lot of people are blogging these days and they take pictures of the food they eat to share with their friends on the internet. I plan on using the camera to conveniently capture pictures of the unique parts of Taiwan to share with my friends in the states.
Connecting with friends will be easier since I can import my Google contacts and also put pictures of them to match their phonebook entry. The Galaxy i9100 will be able to hold entries for all my friends both in Taiwan and in the US. I can add multiple numbers for each friend and also add their email address if I want to send them a message instead.
Staying connected to my friends will be simple with all the options that the Galaxy SII provides me. With 4 band GSM I should always be able to get my calls. And HSPDA means I can download large amounts of data quicker than any other phone. I can always be on the internet and actively check my Gmail and Facebook. I can even use my phone to be my personal hotspot for my laptop or to allow my friends to connect via b/g/n wifi. Or when I cannot get a cell signal, I can connect to any available 802.11 wireless signal and stay connected through wifi.
Finally, I do think that I will have fun and be entertained by the i9100. With the superfast dual core CPU, it can play just about any existing games. I can transfer movies to the phone to watch when I am on a long trip or I can take it to a friend’s house and play it on their TV via HDMI @ full HD.
I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this phone. Samsung, hurry and release it in Taiwan!
