前言

實在是因為工作太忙，經歷家庭繁忙，腦中風等事情，將近一年才有時間開始寫這篇文章，這其實是去年第二次與Mike Iaconelli將近一周的旅程，真的是很抱歉。但真的很謝謝他。

知道我當時舉家搬來美國工作後，直接offer我到他家住一周，並且安排了美東的釣魚行程
此次釣魚行程主體會是以黑鮪魚為主，但是考量到黑鮪魚能出海的時間並不多，所以在沒有辦法出海釣黑鮪魚的時間，我們會穿插不同的釣魚主題，比如說：小嘴黑鱸、湖鱒，當然少不了他的好朋友，大嘴黑鱸。

而今天就是天氣不好的日子，我們出發前往離他家大約3小時的水庫，裡面有不少的湖鱒。
也就是說必須要清晨三點半就起來，然後釣到下午，來回6小時的車程，連續一周!!

天啊!! 真的超級謝謝他!!!

Due to an extraordinarily busy work schedule and navigating a challenging year that included family matters and my own recovery from a stroke, I am only now finding the time to write this post. This trip actually took place last year—my second nearly week-long fishing adventure with Mike Iaconelli. I truly apologize for the long delay, but I am deeply grateful to him.
When Mike found out I had relocated my whole family to the U.S. for work, he immediately offered to let me stay at his place for a week and lined up an incredible East Coast fishing itinerary.
The primary target of this trip was Giant Bluefin Tuna. However, knowing that weather windows for offshore tuna trips are limited, Mike planned various alternative fishing setups for the non-offshore days—such as Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, and of course, his signature favorite, Largemouth Bass.
Today happened to be one of those bad-weather days at sea, so we headed out to a reservoir about three hours away from his house, known for a healthy population of Lake Trout.
That meant waking up at 3:30 AM, fishing until late afternoon, and tackling a six-hour round-trip drive—every single day for a whole week!
Unbelievable. I honestly can’t thank him enough!

過酷な仕事の忙しさ、家族の事、そして脳卒中のリハビリなど、波乱に満ちたこの1年を経て、ようやくペンをとる時間が出来ました。実はこれ、昨年行われたマイク・アイアコネリ（Mike Iaconelli）との2度目となる約1週間の釣行記録です。遅くなって本当に申し訳ない…でも、彼には心から感謝しています。
私が家族を連れてアメリカへ移住・着任したことを知るや否や、マイクは「家に1週間泊まっていけよ！」と快く迎え入れてくれ、アメリカ東海岸のスペシャル釣行プランを組んでくれました。
今回のメインタゲットはクロマグロ（クロマグロ/Bluefin Tuna）。しかし、オフショアへ出船できるタイミングは限られているため、出られない日はスモールマウスバス、レイクトラウト、そして彼のアショア＆フレッシュウォーターの相棒であるラージマウスバスなど、様々な釣りを織り交ぜて攻略することになりました。
この日はあいにくの悪天候。そこで、彼の自宅から車で約3時間ほどの場所にある、レイクトラウトが狙えるダム湖（リザーバー）へと向かいました。
つまり、朝3時半に起床し、夕方までじっくりロッドを振り、往復6時間のドライブを毎日繰り返すという、怒涛の1週間！
本当に頭が下がります。マイク、最高のサポートをありがとう！！

第一話. 出發高山水庫：巨型湖鱒 Merrill Creek Reservoir

Heading Out to the Alpine Reservoir: Hunting Trophy Lake Trout at Merrill Creek Reservoir

山間リザーバーへの出撃：メリル・クリーク・リザーバーのモンスター・レイクトラウトを追う

這次的釣點是Merrill Creek Reservoir,
是紐澤西州極少數管理為 Trophy Trout Waterbody（巨型鱒魚水域） 的高山深水水庫之一，平均水深非常深（最深達 225 英呎），極適合湖鱒生存與繁殖。
環境特點：

目標魚種：除了巨大的湖鱒（Lake Trout）外，這裡也有豐富的棕鱒（Brown Trout）、虹鱒（Rainbow Trout）以及大/小口黑鱸（Smallmouth / Largemouth Bass）。
作釣型態：水深且水質極清澈。湖鱒常群聚在 50~120 英呎的深水層追逐銀魚（Alewife）。
船隻規範：湖區保護嚴格，僅允許使用電動馬達（Electric Motor Only）的船隻、軟式艇或 Kayak 下水，禁止使用汽油引擎。
無人機規範：當地嚴格禁止操作遙控飛行器（Drone/FPV），前往作釣時需特別注意遵守岸邊與水域規範。(我不小心觸犯了這條規定)

Our destination this time was Merrill Creek Reservoir, one of New Jersey’s rare alpine deep-water impoundments designated as a Trophy Trout Waterbody. The water here is exceptionally deep—reaching up to 225 feet—creating the perfect ecosystem for Lake Trout to thrive and reproduce naturally.

Target Species: Beyond the massive Lake Trout, the reservoir holds abundant populations of Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, as well as both Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass.
Fishing Dynamics: Featuring extreme depths and crystal-clear water, Lake Trout here often school in the deep water column from 50 to 120 feet, actively chasing Alewives.
Boating Regulations: Environmental protection here is strict. The water is restricted to electric motor-only boats, inflatables, and kayaks; gas-powered engines are strictly prohibited.
Drone Regulations: Operating unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones/FPV) is strictly forbidden. Visitors must carefully observe all shoreline and watercraft rules (unfortunately, I accidentally violated this rule during the trip).

今回のターゲットフィールドは、ニュージャージー州内でも数少ない「トロフィートラウト・ウォーターボディ（巨型鱒魚水域）」に指定されている深場のアライン・リザーバー、メリル・クリーク・リザーバー（Merrill Creek Reservoir）。最深部は約225フィート（約68.5m）に達し、レイクトラウトが生き残り、自然繁殖するのに最適な環境が整っています。

ターゲット魚種：超大型のレイクトラウト（Lake Trout）をはじめ、ブラウントラウト、レインボートラウト、さらにはスモールマウスバスやラージマウスバスのストックも非常に豊富です。
フィールドの特性＆釣況：水深が深く、水質はクリア。レイクトラウトは水深50〜120フィートのディープエリアに回遊し、ベイトであるエールワイフ（Alewife）を積極的に追っています。
レギュレーション（船隻）：環境保護が徹底されており、エンジン船は禁止。エレキ（電動マ達/Electric Motor）専用船、インフレータブルボート、カヤックのみが持込可能です。
ドローン規制：無人航空機（ドローン/FPV）の飛行は厳格に禁止されています。陸っぱり・船上問わずルール遵守が徹底されているエリアです（※実は今回、私が誤ってこのルールに触れてしまいました…）。

清晨出發，超長的路程中我們聊了很多，好難想像可以跟世界級的名人這麼近距離的聊天
討論了很多的釣魚旅程，釣魚心路歷程，不知不覺三個小時就到了!!!
一路上，非常神奇，Mike幾乎是家喻戶曉的人物，停紅燈會有人搖下車窗跟他打招呼!
根本上跟明星一起出去釣魚!!!

我們在進入釣點前，還特別進入一間叫做WAWA的超市補給，買了大杯咖啡和吃的食物
準備釣魚啦!!!

Departing in the pre-dawn darkness, we chatted about so many things during the long drive. It was surreal to sit so close to a world-class fishing legend and talk freely. We covered everything from crazy fishing expeditions to our personal journeys as anglers—and before I knew it, three hours had passed!
Along the way, it was amazing to see just how well-known Mike is. While stopped at red lights, people in neighboring cars would actually roll down their windows to shout hello to him! It felt like going on a fishing trip with a rockstar.
Before heading to the boat ramp, we stopped at a convenience store called Wawa to fuel up. We grabbed large coffees and plenty of food, ready to hit the water!

早朝の暗闇の中を出発。長距離の移動中、二人で本当に色々な話をしました。世界的なレジェンドとこんなに近くで腹を割って話せるなんて、今でも夢のようです。これまでの遠征の思い出や、アングラーとしての歩みについて語り合っているうちに、あっという間に3時間の道のりが過ぎ去っていました。
道中、実に驚かされたのはマイクの知名度の高さです。信号待ちをしていると、隣の車のドライバーがわざわざ窓を開けて「ヘイ、マイク！」と声をかけてくるほど！まるで大スターと一緒に釣りに出かけているような気分でした（笑）。
レイクに入る手前で、「Wawa」というコンビニ兼スーパーに立ち寄り、大きめのコーヒーと食料を補給。さあ、いよいよ実釣開始です！

第二話.近20萬元高科技魚探加持，釣魚像在打電動!!!

Boosted by a $6,000+ High-Tech Fish Finder—Fishing Feels Just Like Playing a Video Game!
総額100万円超えのハイテク魚探を投入！まるでゲーム感覚の「シューティング」スタイル

進入湖區之後，很意外的，居然沒有什麼人。可能是周間吧。
這個水壩其實不大，但是很深，然後魚其實蠻分散的，也沒有明顯的標點，
只能慢慢開船找魚。

我一開始是使用Mike提供的建議，用金屬的VIB下來搜尋，
我們就開著魚探，這個魚探是Lowrance 的旗艦級多功能魚探儀／航海圖儀——HDS PRO 16，約 $4,699 – $4,899 美元（折合台幣約 15 萬 – 16 萬元左右，若加上高階 ActiveTarget 2 即時魚探探頭及安裝配件，整套系統破 20 萬元台幣）。

一組將近20萬，然後他有三組...

其中他可以支援 2 實時聲納（Live Sonar），是目前職業釣手最依賴的「黑科技」。可以實時、動態地看到魚在水下的游動軌跡、對假餌的反應，就像在水下照超音波一樣，能精準投擲誘釣，加上 HD 側視／底視：支援高達 1.2MHz 的高頻掃描，能把水底結構（沉木、障礙物、水溝）呈現得像照片一樣細緻。

可以非常清楚的完整看到你自己餌的動向，以及魚是否追餌

照理來說這樣會很好釣？
其實不然，因為魚游得很快，加上船也是移動的，而且拋投的距離要抓穩
再加上就算有魚也不見得會咬，總之，算是open book找答案，
但是還是要一定的判讀。

第一次看這種高科技魚探有點看不懂，後來就是乾脆聽 Mike指導，
往哪邊拋多遠，直接拋比較快。

果然一開始就上魚了!!!!
雖然不大，但是第一條湖鱒實在太開心了!!!
然後Mike也連續上魚!!!

After launching into the lake, I was surprisingly met with tranquility—there was hardly anyone around, likely because it was a weekday. While the reservoir itself isn't particularly huge, it is extremely deep. The fish were quite scattered without any obvious structure or cover, so we had no choice but to slowly cruise around and scan for them.
Following Mike's recommendation, I started off searching with a metal VIB (blade bait). We ran Lowrance’s flagship multi-function display—the HDS PRO 16—retailing around $4,700 to $4,900 USD. Once you factor in the high-end ActiveTarget 2 Live Sonar transducer and mounting accessories, the whole setup runs over $6,000 USD (nearly 200,000 TWD).
And Mike had three of these units on his boat...
The ActiveTarget 2 Live Sonar is currently the ultimate "black magic" tech that professional anglers rely on. It allows you to watch real-time, dynamic underwater movement—seeing fish swim and tracking their exact reactions to your lure, almost like taking an underwater ultrasound. Combined with ActiveImaging HD side/down scanning operating at up to 1.2MHz, bottom structures like submerged wood, humps, and drop-offs show up crisp and crystal-clear.
You can track your lure’s exact path and watch in real time whether a fish is actively chasing it.
You’d think this would make fishing easy, right?
Not quite. The fish swim fast, the boat is constantly drifting, and you have to precision-time your casting distance and angle. On top of that, even if a fish shows interest, it won't necessarily commit to biting. It’s like taking an open-book exam—you might have the answers right in front of you, but you still need skill to interpret what you're seeing.
At first, I struggled to make sense of the high-tech sonar display. Realizing this, I simply followed Mike’s callouts: he’d tell me exactly which direction and distance to cast, and I’d fire away.
Sure enough, we hooked up right away!
Though it wasn't a giant, holding my very first Lake Trout was an incredible feeling! Right after that, Mike started landing them back-to-back as well!

湖面に船を浮かべると、意外なことに周りにはほとんど人がいませんでした。平日のせいかもしれません。このリザーバーは湖自体の表面積こそそれほど大きくないものの、水深が非常に深く、魚も広範囲に散らばっていました。目立つピンポイントのストラクチャーも少ないため、ボートをゆっくり走らせながら魚を探していくしかありません。
まずはマイクのアドバイスに従い、メタルバイブ（VIB）を使って広くサーチを開始しました。僕たちが使っていたのは、Lowrance（ローランス）の旗艦モデル「HDS PRO 16」。本体だけでも約$4,699〜$4,899（日本円で約70万〜73万円）、さらにハイエンドの「ActiveTarget 2」ライブソナー（ライブスコープ）振動子やマウント等のアクセサリーを含めると、システム一式で100万円を余裕で超える超高額システムです。
なんとマイクの艇には、この約100万円クラスのシステムが3台も積まれていました…！
中でも核となる「ライブソナー」は、現在のプロアングラーが最も信頼を寄せるまさに「黒魔術」的なテクノロジーです。水中の魚の動きや、ルアーに対するリアルタイムの反応が超音波画像のように動的に映し出され、狙いすました「シューティング」が可能になります。さらに最大1.2MHzの高周波を放つHDサイド／ダウンイメージングにより、水底の立木やブレイクなどのストラクチャーも写真のように鮮明に描出されます。
自分のルアーがどう動いていて、魚がそれを追ってきているかどうかまで丸見えになるのです。
「これなら簡単に釣れるのでは？」と思うかもしれません。
しかし現実は甘くありませんでした。魚の泳ぐスピードは速く、ボートも常に風や流れで移動しています。正確なキャスト距離と角度のコントロールが不可欠な上、魚が見えていても食うとは限らないのです。例えるなら「教科書を持ち込み可能な試験」のようなもの。答え（魚の居場所）は見えていても、それを解き明かす（食わせる）判読力と技術が求められます。
最初はハイテク魚探の画面を読み解くのに苦戦しましたが、途中からはマイクの指示に全幅の信頼を置くことに。「あっちの方向、◯◯フィート先へ投げろ！」という彼のガイドに従ってキャストする作戦へ切り替えました。

第三話【管理員與我們的突發風暴、深水救贖，與碼頭燈號下的與警察的終局審判】

拂曉初啟，湖面上的節奏原本極為流暢。我和 Mike 竿起竿落，連續捕獲數尾活躍的個體，然而能稱之為 Monster 的深場巨型湖鱒，始終未曾給出訊號。

隨著正午咬況陷入沉寂，為了記錄這片水域的壯闊輪廓，我升起了空拍機——卻犯下了一個致命的疏忽：忽視了大壩管制水域嚴格的禁飛法規。

才剛回收設備，平靜的湖面瞬間被引擎撕裂。管理人員駕艇逼近，面色鐵青地發出極其兇狠的警告，厲聲勒令扣押無人機。眼看情勢一觸即發，Mike 毫不猶豫地挺身而出，在第一線據理力爭。雙方陷入窒息般的對峙，對方最終拋下一句「叫警察來抓你們」的恐嚇，隨後粗暴地催動油門強行切入，惡意以船身硬生生斬斷了 Mike 的母線，揚長而去。

At the break of dawn, the rhythm on the lake was perfectly fluid. Mike and I were casting and reeling continuously, landing several active individuals. However, the deep-water "Monsters"—the truly giant lake trout—had yet to send a signal.
As noon arrived and the bite fell silent, I launched my drone to capture the magnificent contours of this body of water. In doing so, I committed a fatal oversight: ignoring the strict no-fly regulations of the dam’s controlled waters.
Hardly had I retrieved the equipment when the tranquil surface of the lake was instantly torn apart by an engine roar. A ranger’s boat bore down on us. With a livid expression, the officer issued an extremely fierce warning, sternly ordering the seizure of the drone. Seeing the situation on the verge of exploding, Mike stood up without hesitation to argue our case on the front line. Both sides fell into a suffocating standoff. Finally, after hurling the threat, "I’m calling the cops to come arrest you," the ranger violently revved the throttle and forced a sharp cut-in, maliciously using the boat’s hull to snap Mike’s main line before speeding away.

夜明け前、湖畔の律動（リズム）は極めて流暢だった。私とマイクは竿を振り、リールを巻く動作を繰り返し、活きのいい個体を数匹連続して釣り上げた。しかし、「モンスター」と呼ぶにふさわしい深場の巨大レイクトラウトからは、ついに信号が届くことはなかった。
正午が近づき、アタリが止まった静寂の中、この水域の壮大な輪郭を記録しようと、私はドローンを飛び立たせた。しかし、そこで致命的な過失を犯してしまった。ダムの管制水域における厳格な飛行禁止法規を失念していたのだ。
機体を回収した直後、平穏な湖面は突如としてエンジン音に引き裂かれた。管理職員のボートが猛スピードで接近し、職員は顔を青筋を立てて極めて凶暴な警告を発し、ドローンの押収を厳しく命じてきた。一触即発の事態を前に、マイクは躊躇なく矢面に立ち、毅然と抗議した。双方の対峙は息が詰まるほど張り詰めたものとなった。結局、相手は「警察を呼んで捕まえさせてやる」という捨て台詞を残し、乱暴にアクセルを吹かして強引に割り込んだ。そして、悪意を持って船体でマイクの道糸（メインライン）を無残にも断ち切り、去っていった。

Mike非常地認真替我和管理員說明，我真的很抱歉，讓他陷入這種情境。
由於當時攝影機並沒有開，類似這個情境大家可以腦補一下。
真的很謝謝他。
Mike earnestly stepped in to speak on my behalf with the ranger. I felt deeply apologetic for dragging him into such a tense confrontation. Since the camera wasn't rolling at that moment, I'll leave the scene to your imagination. I cannot thank him enough.
マイクは私のために、管理員に対して本当に一生懸命説明してくれました。彼をあんな気まずい状況に巻き込んでしまい、本当に申し訳ない気持ちでいっぱいでした。その時はカメラを回していませんでしたが、当時の張り詰めた空気感は皆さんの想像にお任せします。彼には本当に感謝しかありません。

自責與恐懼交織而來，我甚至做好了面對最壞後果的心理準備。但身旁的 Mike 只是平靜地重新綁線，眼神堅定地對我說：「Forget it, just fish.」
愧疚奪走了我所有的專注，在近乎無意識的機械拋投與晃餌中，靈魂深處似乎只剩下對水底的盲目探尋。然而，就在這種徹底屏除雜念的「無邪氣」狀態下，水底深處毫無預警地傳來一記宛如鐵錨般的重擊！
強烈的壓制感貫穿竿身，水花炸裂開來——深淵之下的王者，以全天最大的一尾巨型湖鱒，為這場驚心動魄的對峙寫下了不可思議的破局。
看到這尾巨物成功抄網，Mike 緊繃的眉頭終於徹底舒展，露出了如釋重負的暢快大笑。緊接著，徹底被點燃戰意的他回歸了他最致命的本命領域——Bass Fishing。船身滑向橋墩下方的陰影結構，落點精準如同手術刀，沉重的咬訊接連炸響，Mike 以大師級的絕對實力，連續拔出兩尾體型彪悍的良型鱸魚，強勢宣告破局！

Guilt and fear tangled within me, and I had even braced myself for the absolute worst. Yet beside me, Mike simply retied his line with calm composure. Looking at me with steady eyes, he said, "Forget it, just fish."
Guilt stripped away all my focus. Amidst almost robotic, mechanical casting and jigging, all that remained in the depths of my soul was a blind search into the water below. Yet in this state of pure, detached emptiness—completely devoid of intention—a strike hit from the deep like a dropping anchor, without the slightest warning.
An overwhelming weight surged through the rod blank as the surface violently erupted. The monarch of the abyss, in the form of the day's absolute biggest giant lake trout, shattered the suffocating tension with an unbelievable turnaround.
Seeing this monster safely scooped into the net, the tension on Mike’s face completely dissolved into a hearty laugh of pure relief. Immediately after, his fighting spirit fully reignited as he returned to his most lethal signature domain: Bass Fishing. The boat glided toward the deep shadows beneath the bridge pilings. With surgical precision in every cast, heavy strikes hammered the line in rapid succession. Wielding masterclass skill, Mike pulled out two hefty, brawny bass back-to-back, emphatically turning the tide and seizing complete control of the day.

自責と恐怖が交錯し、私は最悪の結末すら覚悟していた。しかし、隣にいたマイクはただ静かにラインを結び直し、揺るぎない眼差しで私にこう言った。「Forget it, just fish.（気にするな、ただ釣るんだ）」
罪悪感は私の集中力を完全に奪い去り、無意識の機械的なキャストとアクションを繰り返す中で、魂の奥底にはただ水底への当てのない探求だけが残されていた。だが、一切の雑念を払い落としたその「無邪気」な境地において、深淵の底から突如として、まるで錨を掛けられたかのような強烈な衝撃が走った！
竿全体を貫く圧倒的なトルク、そして炸裂する水飛沫——深場の王者は、この日最大となる巨大レイクトラウトの姿をもって、あの息詰まる対峙の果てに信じられない大逆転の幕引きをもたらした。
このモンスターが無事にネットインした瞬間、マイクの険しかった表情は一気に崩れ、心底安堵したような豪快な笑みをこぼした。そして、完全に闘志に火がついた彼は、自身の真骨頂である本命領域——バスフィッシングへと回帰した。船を橋脚下の巨大なシェードへと滑り込ませると、外科手術のような寸分の狂いもないピンポイントキャストを連発。立て続けにロッドを絞り込む重烈なバイトを引き出し、マイクはまさにマスタークラスの絶対的実力で、体高のある堂々たる良型バスを2本連続で引きずり出し、完全に勝負の潮目を引き寄せた！

然而，命運的伏筆在歸途準時到來。
日落收竿之際，船頭轉向碼頭，刺眼的紅藍警燈在岸上瘋狂閃爍——兩輛警車早已靜候多時，而那名面目猙獰的管理員就站在一旁。
