Mode switch LED just "Normal/S/S+" indicator,original steering wheel electronics module can't process switch dial signal.
Steering wheel electronics module broadcast "Normal/S/S+/Launch control" LIN Bus messages equipped with sport chrono package,adapter capture this message convert to Switch Mode LED status indicator.
970 Panamera&Macan center console sport&sport plus keyboard didn't use LIN BUS protocol connect to control module,maybe use I2C or other protocol communication with NEC MCU.it's difficult develop signal injector change S/S+.
