My brother will but a PDA from Taiwan and take it to Canada (Toronto area) for me. He said the store that he asked suggests buying ASUS P735 or P535 (tri-band). I was thinking of Eten M700 or X500 (quad-band) because I do not need 3G (not popular in Canada and expansive).

A friend of mine uses Asus P535 now in Canada so I know it works fine here. However, I am not sure if Eten's PDA can be used in Canada or not. Has anyone ever used Eten PDA in Canada? How is the cell phone reception? I am mainly using it for as a Phone and GPS purpose. Thanks in advance.
i'm not sure there is any 3g network in toronto? if a 3g network is there, i would suggest u to buy a dopod cht 9100 which is a samsung 400mhz, qualcomm 6275 with gps enabled hsdpa solution, of course, dual cammera, 64mb sdram and nand flash are built-in, i'm using it, not bad though it's a bit higher than other similar 3g pda phone in taiwan. btw, dopod had announced crossbow would be support on cht 9100.
Of cause that X500&M700 can work in Canada,in America, even Russia.
Their phone and GPS function can work in everywhere of the area where provide GSM service.
About GPS, there is a problem with X500&M700.
That is they use Papago but not TomTom.
Papago doesn't have the map of Canada, but TomTom does.
So if you want to use GPS function with X500&M700 in Canada.
You have to install TomTom or get the map for Papago

P535 use TomTom, so it can work without any setup.
But the GPS fuction in X500&M700 is more powerful than P535.
If you want a PDA with powerful GPS function, you may need X500 or M700, and install TomTom.
Else, buy P535. Then you can enjoy it without install TomTom.
