由於想在旅行時使用 Eee PC 701 連 BBS, 發現 Asus 沒提供 telnet, 嘗試安裝 PCManX 到 Asus 本身的 Linux 的時候也遇到許多困難.
在網路上找文章時無意地發現 Ubuntu 有特別針對簡易型筆記型電腦(Netbook)設計了一套作業系統 Ubuntu EEE(現改名為Easy Peasy 1.0 發行日:2009.01.05),網友反應都非常不錯.
於是把自己的 Eee PC 的作業系統改安裝成 Easy Peasy 1.0 (Ubuntu EEE),來試試看,發現很容易就安裝好了.
安裝完會又重新出現安裝畫面,這時候只要把下列 Ubiquity 的選項的打勾拿掉即可

建議先完成 Easy Peasy 作業系統更新後再來設定 3G,這樣比較簡單容易.
個人認為 Easy Peasy 1.0 比 Asus 本身所附的 Linux 容易且好用很多.
在此把 3G 上網的安裝設定步驟抓圖下來做個紀錄分享給有需要的網友.

E220 3G 上網設定步驟如下
步驟一. 解除 PIN 碼
▼在 Windows 裡面把 SIM Card 的密碼(PIN)解除(這樣子接下來的設定就更容易了)

步驟二. 設定無線網路
▼對著右上方網路圖示按左鍵,然後選擇想要的無線網路

步驟五. 在 Easy Peasy 1.0 裡設定 E220 3G 上網
▼將 E220 插入 Eee PC 的 USB 插槽,會自動偵測到,請點選對話框的 Configure

▼對著右上方網路圖示按滑鼠左鍵,在選單裡選擇 中華電信(emome) 來啟動 3G 連線

步驟七. 測試會不會有 3G 斷線的問題
▼開啟檔案管理員,看會不會遇到 Asus Linux 檔案管理員把 3G 連線斷掉的問題,發現連線正常,不會斷掉.

步驟九. 取消 3G 連線
▼斷開 3G 連線的方法為: 對著右上方 3G 連線符號點選滑鼠左鍵,然後選擇 中華電信(emome)
