SPB Mobile Shell is very similar to the Sense user interface found on the HTC Hero. They’re so similar that any Hero theme for Mobile Shell usually translates into an instant hit. We’ve reported on a Hero theme before, called Sence La Révolution, which was fantastic for Mobile Shell 3.0. Unfortunately, the version that was ported for MS3.5 was pretty barebones in that it didn’t even come with widgets like the previous version. Some of the elements of the theme were also changed and it didn’t quite live up to the original. On top of that, since it was created by French developers, parts of the theme were in French.
Well, there’s a new Hero theme in town, this time called MobileSense, which does a great job of letting the user personalize the interface. It features a theme generator that enables users to change the background of any screen found within Mobile Shell. Being able to have multiple backgrounds for different parts of the interface is a huge plus. The configurator also allows users to switch between the default Mobile Shell and Hero style menu bar. It also has a variety of widgets and interface accessories that make this one of the better themes available for Mobile Shell.
MobileSense is available for WVGA/VGA devices running Mobile Shell 3.5.1 and higher. Check out some of the other features below and grab the easily installable CAB file from either XDA-developers or MobileCustom.
Mobile Sense Features:
• 4 analog clock widgets
• 2 digital clock widgets
• 4 date widget
• 4 task widgets
• 4 battery widgets
• 7 appointment widgets
• Multiple weather widgets
• Sense UI style wireless connections widgets
• Many separators, panels, widget backgrounds and other UI accessories
• Theme/background generator
• Other altered elements of MS
• Switch between default MS and Hero style menu bar
• Most default skins for widgets are still available
• And more!
Notes: for non-WWE ROM users, you may want to wait another day as the developer is adapting the theme to work with ROMs that don't use the English "Program Files" directory. The theme configuration menu can be found as a shortcut under programs as "SenseConfig." To add a new theme and apply it to panels: tap and hold the menu to add an image/theme, go to the panels tab, select which panels you want to apply the theme to, tap/hold to select theme to apply.
