在美國有用GPS的請進來

大家好,這是我第一次發問,多多指教

小弟現在居於美國, 介於之前看過許多在美國居住的,所以想說應該有人可以幫的了我.
因為最近想買壹部新的PPC,所以就想說用自己的老爺PPC來做導航(Toshiba E740)

我現在所知papago和microsoft street 這些都有美國的地圖
想請問一下在美國用過GPS的,妳們都用哪些地圖軟體,心得如何,希望妳們可以分享一下.

我用的是 Dell Axim X5 + Holux GM270 + Mapopolis. 非常好用. 圖資詳細, 導航也準確. 有朋友用過 E740 + Holux GM270, 因為 E740 雜訊太大, 導致 GPS 收訊不佳. 用外接天線略有改善, 作個參考.

我自己是用 Pharos 的 iGPS-360-BT
PDA是 DELL X50-mid + Lexar 1G SD
軟體是用tomtom usa

研勤的 kingmap跟 mapking之前都在 1945上面試過
但是自從用了tomtom之後研勤的東西早就不知丟哪邊去了

我有個 Toshiba E740, 原本想用它來導航, 因為它上面有 SD + CF. 結果就如同 jenweiliang 朋友的經驗, CF GPS 收訊很差, 一定要用外接天線. 我試了 Holux 270 和 Pharos CF GPS, 都一樣.

另外一個問題是音量, 我的E740 音量很小, 但我不確定是否每部 E740 都如此.

軟體的話我覺得大家提到的都不錯. 值得一提的是 Microsoft 的 Streets and Trips 並不導航, 它只是個GPS電子地圖. (MS S&T 2005 版的圖資到倒是相當準確.)

My GPS system setup as below:

PDA: Dell X30 H (WiFi and Bluetooth enabled)

GPS receiver: Teletype Bluetooth GPS receiver , one of the fast BT GPS receiver in the market, actually probably is the best one, you can check the CNET.com or POCKETPC.com to see the review. The product is Made in Korea.

GPS navigation software: PocketMap , the reason I choose PocketMap: 1. Very Cheap only US$89.95, and including all US map source. 2. Fancy navigation interface. But there is one major deficiency regarding PocketMap, this product only support US map, no Canada/Europe/Asia.

Car Mount: Seidio G2500 , trust me, this is the best car mount kit in the market, I didn't choose ARKON car mount kiet, becaue they are so ugly.

If you don't have Bluetooth GPS receiver right now, you can think about buying Seidio G2500 mount kit with GPS receiver bundle (wired GPS receiver) (US$119). Because from my experience, although Bluetooth receiver is wireless, you always need to worry about the battery leverl, then you need to bring the other charger for your Bluetooth GPS receiver. So I recommend the Seidio G2500 mount kit with GPS receiver bundle cheaper, easy setup and more intergrity. That's all. Hope this information is useful.

還有一套 OnCourse Navigator 4.0 USA, 是在小弟的 Axim X50v 上唯一能橫向顯示沒問題的軟體. 但我平常還是最喜歡用 TomTom USA

我之前去美國時是用HP-2210+PaPaGO,感覺還不錯,一路上使用倒是沒有什麼失誤,只不過是它的"自建地標"無法建立在小的路上,就算是GPS準確的建立,但PaPaGO還是會把建立的地標,顯示在大的馬路上,這點應該算是Bug吧!!!關於路徑規劃倒還算可以啦!!!
