I have the GPSmap 76cs today. It locked the signal for taking about 56 seconds and was not under the clear sky.
The first impression of the gps is bulky. Trust me, it is really "bulky" than the etrex series.
However, if you have big hands with fat fingers, you will appreciate its bulky design. All buttons have their very clear located position to allow users' pressing.About the functions, they are all alike as GPSmap 60c/s. The reason I chose the old-style TV remote control shape gps is based on two: one is the memory capacity, the other is the trip & waypoint manager cd-rom.
What I found one dissatisfaction so far is the bettery connected plate. I don't understand why there is only one spring type connected plate not two of them. If you are a bike rider, after on the mountain road shocking the gps will be easy to lose the power support and shut down.
Totally, in spite of its bulky shape and the little fault I found, I am happy with having this GPS handheld, the colorful big screen, the faster processor speed, and the portable property.
p.s. I chose C+S for the other special function, "Sight 'N Go." Summer is coming, lets go canoeing
