I am new to the DSLR. About 15 yrs ago, I used the SLR when I was in highschool.

Since I live in US and it is difficult to find the actual camera stores (and even they have stores near to where I live, the selection is so much lesser than online stores) to compare different models.

Since I am new to DSLR, I wonder if some experts from here would suggest which brands / models for me?

Additionally, I heard something like a KIT. Is it the body + lens? Should I buy a kit and use it then buy another lens in later time?

Can a DSLR print a poster size of picture with only 6M resolution? or do I have to buy a 8.xM DSLR?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Chain store like BestBuy, Circuitcity, CompUSA, Staples, Costco, and
many more has cameras that you can try and play with for a moment.
I believe there should be at least of them near your neighborhood.

You are asking a question that has no answers. Every model has its cons and pros,
so ask yourself what you want and what you expect from a DSLR.

Answer to the first question: yes.
Answer to the second question: it really depends. But as a starter, I would suggest you just
go with kit lens.

I have an example: 6MP DSLR's are usually about 2000 x 3000 pixels.
That works out to a 6.67" x 10" print at 300dpi.
I checked out few kits from costco's website

Canon Rebel XT 8.0MP (EF-S 18-55mm Lens)
Nikon D50 6.1MP 2.0" (18-55mm & 55-200mm)
Canon 20D 8.2MP (18-55mm EF-S Lens)

the 20D is the most expensive one, and I think the D50 is the cheapest one. Also, the D50 comes with 2 lens (I wonder if they are good or not).

Any ideas or tips on which one is better than others?
For long-term consideration, I suggest you buy 20D or the newly model 30D. 'Cus 20D/30D got fast focusing (compare with D50), fast shooting, fast writing... everything's faster. Plus, they use CF cards which are faster and more stable.

One more thing, 30D got magnesium alloy body.
