VMware 有提供專用的顯示驅動程式, 建議安裝好 VM 後, 安裝 VMware-tools , 更新驅動程式後再設定看看.

Installing the SVGA Drivers
The Display Settings window has been opened to
help you finish installing your SVGA drivers.
To complete the installation, follow these steps:
1) Click the Advanced button.
2) Click the Adapter tab.
3) Click the Change button. This starts the Update
Device Driver Wizard. Click Next.
4) The Wizard now presents two options. Choose
the second option to "Display a list of all
the drivers in a specific location..."
Click Next.
5) Select "Have Disk..."
6) Enter the following path and click OK:
"C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\Drivers\video\"
7) Select "VMware SVGA II" display adapter and click OK.
8) Answer Yes to the on-screen question, then click
Next to install the driver. After the driver is
installed, click Finish.
9) Click Close from the SVGA Properties dialog box,
then click Close from the Display Setting dialog
box.
10) Click Yes to restart Windows 98 and start using
the new video driver.

-->依OS不同，支援的RAM就不同了 (支援4GB 以下用Standard版本、支援4GB 以上用Enterprise 版本)
