看到國外(MacFixIt)已經有一些相關的討論, 2nd G的iMac G5, 有ambient light sensor的那個Power Supply (Rev.B), 開機太久, 過熱會有問題.
沒想到我的也是不良品, 只要開機過久過熱就會突然斷電, 如果機器沒有休息一下, 又開機, 又會斷電.
今天把Power supply拆下來, 沒想到這個PSU只有180W (AcBel, 應該是康舒做的), 居然可以帶的動G5 2.0G, 400G HDD外加20" LCD, 我的天啊, 以我估計最少都要250W, 居然只有180W Max.
今天趕快上Apple要求DIY Repair, 他們會寄新的PSU來, 希望這次是好的PSU.
有沒有人的第二代iMac G5有同樣問題?
另外, ambient light sensor的功能是??

It's a Rev. A without ALS, so I need to move ALS from defective PSU to new PSU.
I already run Hardware Test and it's been up over 24 hrs so far after I had the PSU changed.
It seems working fine. (Running EveTV 2.0 and BT.)
Below is my defective PSU. I need to return it to Apple with original package of NEW PSU, otherwise, I need to pay USD109.XX.
