我想Glass coverage應該是Comprehensive下的選項.

Comprehensive
Comprehensive coverage pays for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by fire, theft, vandalism, hail, windstorm, riot, falling objects, flood, collision with an animal, and other events as stated in your policy contract.
Each comprehensive claim is subject to a deductible (the amount you will pay out of pocket). You should choose a deductible that meets your financial needs; the higher the deductible, the lower the premium charged for this coverage. Please see your contract for state specific coverage details.
Comprehensive is an optional coverage. You may want to consider whether the present value of your vehicle justifies the cost of this coverage. If you finance or lease your vehicle, your lease or financing agreement may require you to have this coverage. Refer to your lease or financing agreement for details.
這就是我所謂的full galss coverage( no deductible required )
Comprehensive [Non-Deductible (Glass)]:
If you have comprehensive coverage you may elect to have no deductible for damage to your vehicle's safety glass. This will allow for either repair or replacement of damaged safety glass without applying a deductible. Safety glass includes the safety glass used in the windshield, doors, and windows, as well as the glass, plastic, or other material used in the lights of the motor vehicle.

if u have full coverage, by law the insurance would have to cover your windshield replacement for free.
at-least thats what the bmw service department told me. but again...this is kentucky

There are only a few states in the US that waive the deductible for windshield replacements or repairs as a part of comprehensive coverage. (((((The states of Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts and South Carolina waive the deductible and thus are referred to by some as zero deductible states with regards to windshield claims.)))) Thus without needing to pay a deductible you can call this a "free" windshield replacement.
In these states your insurance company is required by law to repair or replace your windshield with no deductible charged—as long as you have comprehensive insurance on your vehicle. (((((((((((Florida and Massachusetts only fully cover windshields, but Kentucky and South Carolina cover all glass replacement with no deductible.)))))))))))))))
Many CarInsurance.com companies offer a Full Glass or 0 Glass Deductible option that is available instead of selecting a deductible when the windshield is broken or damaged.
(((((If your windshield has been cracked or broken so that it needs repaired or replaced than you should make a claim through the comprehensive portion of your auto insurance policy. Even if you do not live in FL, MA, SC or KY you can always ask your insurance carrier if they can waive the deductible for a windshield claim. Some insurance companies will waive the deductible for windshield repairs or replacements if their underwriting guidelines allow them to so.)))))

還有 換檔windshield這種工作 不是在body shop 也不是在dealship
因為 這些都是out source. 到google map上面打你的zip code 還有auto glass. 應該就能找到當地的local shop
they should be able to replace the whole glass +work around 350-500 bucks

first at all, if you wanna claim benefit from insurance company you have to call your insurance company that you wanna claim the benefit and ask them where is the best garage or repair center they want you to go, you cannot decide the repair center or garage, the insurance company tell you where to go, and it might be far far far away from your location.
Second, insurance will send inspector to that repair center or garage to negociate the price and inspect the damage, it might take a week.
Third, the repair center or garage will begin to repair you car... it might take few days.
however, if you change it by yourself in auto glass store, it take only 2 hours. On the other hand, if you claim your benefit from your insurance company, you will pay lots of extra to next session of your auto insurance; seriously it is not worth.. Ford is a really big brand in US, so you don't need worry they cannot find the part for your baby, you even can go junk yard to get windshield for you Mustang for only 40 bucks or cheaper. PS: if you wanna a horse mark on you glass, you can just buy sticker from ford.. it costs only a nickle.. lol just kidding. btw, I am living in Philly, I am not far away from NYC.
Find auto glass from the yellow book in your area.. you can find plenty of auto-glass store.. don't forget compare price.. I ever get windshield (include installation) at price under $99.69 for my friend's new bimmer(E92).
