The funny things is, people who have Honda civic often believe they need to use expensive oil in order to protect their engine. Personally, i don't understand the logic.
I don't think you can get a good oil at $1 per bottle. It is either fake or expired. Sometimes, you can see deep discount sales on oil, usually they are almost expired. DON'T BUY THOSE! When you buy oil, check the date!
BTW, just pass API doesn't mean you can use it on BMW engine. check for BMW Longlife 01 or 02 certified oil. if you are lazy to check, Mobil 1 0-40 is one choice.

我也認同airjim的觀點,
老實說,BMW維修廠內(美國的)自己都不是用Mobil 1 0-40 全合成這機油了,
與其相信廠商的推薦,還不如瞭解為什麼要如此,
BMW使用手冊上也說可以超級久再換一次機油阿~
小弟我以前從來不幹這種事,3000 miles就拿去換了,
我的機油思維是,非全合成機油要用也是ok,重點是多久換一次,
全合成8000 miles換一次和非全合成3000 miles換一次,我寧可選後者~
再說,開車環境的差異有可能非常的不同,
五大湖區冰天凍地下(往年....)和南方AZ沙漠地帶,
不可能都適用0-40這等級吧~
瞭解機油的定義,常更換才是保護的王道~
但就性能上的差意,
我至今也只有認為紅線機油似乎可以讓轉速拉比較快些罷了,
不過也似乎更不耐用,
且紅線太貴了,我又不是天天要飆車用,所以用過幾次就沒再使用了.....
