For the third straight year, the Toyota Group has reached record levels in term of production and for the second year in a row has exceeded the threshold of 10 million units. In 2014, the main carmaker in the world has thus increased by 1.7% its production for a total of 10,285,546 units, divided between 4,211,492 units built in Japan (-1.8%) and 6,074,054 produced abroad, up 4.2%.
In details, Toyota has assembled 1.335 million vehicles in the United States (+ 3.6%) and 963,000 in China (+ 12.2%) both record highs. The most popular models in the US are Corolla and Camry and in China the same Corolla, Yaris and Vios. The production performance was satisfactory also in Latin America and other Asian countries. In 2015, the Toyota group expects its global production to fall one pct to 10.21 million units.
