Car: BMW 325i E46, 4 doors
Price: $250 plus tax (every windows except windshield and moonroof)
Film: 3M High Performance 50% all around
1. The shop has 2 kind of films. 3M HP and 3M CS (color stable) the CS is a little more expensive ($315) and it doesn't contain any metal. I got the cheaper one, since BMW's radio and GPS is on the roof (shark fin). I found no difference in cell phone reception.
2. yes, the price is different depends on what kind of car you have. the shop i went, they actually TOOK OUT THE GLASS from the door to do tint. The shop said BMW and some european cars's door are difficult to take apart. as a result, higher price (because need more time to take apart the door)
3. It took nearly 6 hours to do mine. I was waiting in the shop.
4. I think the way is both good and bad. The good part is that the film can fit PERFECTLY onto the glass. You can't see the cut line on the side at all, because they can cut it so close to the edge. On top of the glass, the cut line is around 1-2mm away from the edge. By comparison, it is almost impossible to cut it that close if you don't take the glass out.
5. My car is an old car, so i didn't mind they take apart the door. however, if it's a brand new car, I wouldn't let them do that.
6. 50% all around is not dark at all, i will see how it stand in hot summer.
