轮胎制造商Goodyear公司在日内瓦车展上推出一种新的高性能夏季轮胎，该轮胎据说提供低的燃油消耗、长寿命及良好的湿制动性能。
Goodyear公司自己的测试结果显示新轮胎提供15%更低的滚动摩擦，制动距离在湿滑条件减少3%，具有更好的湿滑处理特点。该公司宣称这种轮胎也能提供25%的英里数的增加。
这种EfficientGrip(有效抓地)轮胎采用Goodyear公司的油料节省技术，它由一系列研发组成，以减少轮胎的滚动阻力，这包括一个轻质结构、减少发热、先进的合成材料、新的制造技术。
Goodyear公司说其重量的减少与先前产品相比轻了大约10%，EfficientGrip的特点是更轻的聚酯板，侧壁使用更少的材料，低的发热性来自于Goodyear公司专利技术CoolCushion，这涉及到使用一种新的热塑成分作为加固剂，部分地代替黑煤末。
