Guys,
I've had the same problems, I had to use my headset for a phonecall as well. The problem is indeed that the x500 'thinks' the headset is plugged in. Surfing and searching on the internet I found out it is not a unique E-ten problem. Several brands have the same problem. The next solution worked for me (I also tried to remove the battery for a night, no solution):
Remove the battery from the X500, wait for 15 minutes. Then take a small instrument, like a paperclip and find the 'earphone-housing'. There is a small hole, put the paperclip smoothly in it. Just move the paperclip a bit around and after that.. turn on the X500.
I did this yesterday and it worked out fine. No idea if the sound will be gone when I insert the headset again, I'll try that later. For now, I hear sound! Since 1,5 week!
Is this normal? I don't think so. But I had to choose - do this or return the X500 and not use it for three weeks or more..
