There was a minor mistake in his syntax somewhere. But I've already forgotten where it is. Anyway, if you have any problem, just let me know. I keep like 4 versions of my modified DATA.ZIP on my HD just for reference. If you like, I can sent you a "tweak" list that I've done to my C310x.

Interesting. I found TomTom's display much harder to find information when you are on the road. Did you try the "Pilot" mode when you are driving with your iGo/MioMap?

With C310x, the SiRF III almost instantly gets signals in my area in less than 5 seconds. Even on a pouring day (like yesterday), it took less than 1 minute to locate my car.

On turning, I find MioMap reacts too fast. It is recalculating new route even while I am making a turn. The cure is to set the recalculation dealy to 2 second instead of 1 second. That should give you an idea of how fast my C310x is.

The USA maps on Mio C310x or MioMap/iGo are dated 2005.1. I don't know if that's why MioMap makes mistakes in suggesting me making illegal or impossible turns (one way, divided road, or no left turn). But I can get used to those.

I've said a lot nice features of their UI already, so I'll just skip it here. What I like is the voice prompt while I am driving (too bad there is no US female voice yet), they are much much better than TomTom 6.

moonbear, how can you add the video function to C310x? where did you get the software? and how to install the softeare? i cannot find the addition from
fredlynx.ifo. myabe because fredlynx's GPS is C710 which includes the video fucntion. thanks

If you install the Mio510xxxx.cab file, C310x will stop using Mio Transfer and use ordinary USB transfer for Active Sync.
On PC side, make sure your Mio Transfer doesn't auto start. Start Active Sync.

Once your C310x is connected to PC, it will auto sync by itself.

On PC, Active Sync will ask you to set up a partnership. Just click on Cancel every time it asks.
