Yes, I agree with you. Ever since I bought 15-85mm, I use it all the time to take pics outdoors. 15-85mm is a great lense not only for 7D but also an excellent lense for my 550D.
Love 15-85mm when taking portraits shots at 85mm where you can focus in less than 35 cm.
15-85mm is simply a great lens for APSC sensors.
