僅能提供主觀上的文字敘述…基本上,MC-11 支援這顆鏡頭,在Sony 機身上可使用的功能等同原廠 FE 接環鏡頭.
Sony A9 + Sigma MC-11 + Sigma 500mmf4 S016:可使用Sony A9 完整的AF範圍,可使用所有AF 對焦模式,Hi+ 連拍速度約15~16fps (測試方式:鏡頭對焦切到MF ,快門1/2000 ,對手機碼表拍攝, 2秒鐘內約31張影像; 測試過多次結果相同);(若以MB V 轉接,無法使用 A9 全部的對焦範圍,大致上僅有中央不到50% 的面積,且容易拉風箱.)
Sony A9 + Sigma MC-11 + Sigma 500mmf4 S016 + Sigma倍鏡(: TC2001/TC1401):因為MC-11不支援(自家)倍鏡,因此對焦範圍會縮減,大致上是中央50%面積;可使用所有AF 對焦模式,Hi+ 連拍速度約15~16fps.
A9的對焦範圍選項“對焦區域”,大概就是中央50%面積;因此對動態主體習慣採用的對焦範圍就是” 對焦區域”;只要主體在觀景窗中能追上放置於” 對焦區域”中,即使加上TC2001 兩倍鏡,大致上都能黏得很牢追下去.

補充一份本站MC-11 軟體更新主題對於A9 + MC-11 + 500mmf4 S016 的測試影像參考.
轉接第三方鏡頭存在比原廠鏡頭還高的風險,因為所有的轉接效能並無廠商保證,且SIGMA的態度較為踏實,對於官網上MC-11的聲明相對保守,還是存在"不支援SONY AF-C"的免責內容,對於要採用這套組合需要自負責任...
在以上連接的MC-11 更新說明中,明確提到" This firmware makes the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 compatible with the latest firmware of SIGMA interchangeable lenses. It includes improvement of AF performance in the peripheral areas of the image as well as the “Eye AF” function when it is selected." ,以及 " ・With applicable SGV lenses*, it has improved AF performance in the peripheral areas of the image as well as the “Eye AF” function when it is selected."
在這次更新前,MC-11 轉接Sigma "A-""S-"C-" 系列鏡頭,存在AF-C 對焦區域限制的問題,在2018年陸續更新CANON 接環鏡頭的2.00版以上的韌體時,未加說明但隱藏形式的將轉接Sony 機身AF-C 對焦區域限制開放;但沒有更新鏡頭韌體如本顆500mmf4 S016還是存在對焦區域限制; 直到2018/9/10 更新MC-11 的韌體時(即以上連接內容),與往常不同的是常態上的更新內容(新增對Sigma新推出鏡頭的支援性)之外,增加說明對"SVG鏡頭"影像周邊區域AF及Eye AF 的支援,這正是原來對焦區域限制的解放.
個人認為這次的MC-11更新韌體後,才能算是達到對Sony E環境頭支援的完整性;對500mmf4 S016目前的韌體還未更新到2.00版,若是更新後到2.00版會對於轉接Sony 機身的AF效能再提升嗎?我是抱樂觀的態度,至少依據過去的歷程,若無提升至少AF效能僅會維持不會降低. 只是要提醒踏入轉接的同好,這組合是目前Sony 定焦長炮惟二且較低廉便宜的選擇,但價格還是超過20萬以上.空手踏入建議需要做些心理建設,態度上要能耐心等待才好.
