Sony A6700 使用 3,200 萬像素 CMOS 並且可能在 5 月下旬發表，而且亦有望破天荒棄用 2,400 萬像素「萬年 Sensor」，然而新機的型號仍未屬於大家所期待的「7」字頭（A7XXX），亦即是當年 NEX-7 的同級機種，而是很大機會用上 A6700 作為新機的名稱，不過新機在定位上亦將會與現時的 A6600 有所不同。
