Different colours of different post produce softwares.
Is that colour right? This is the question every Lightroom User has been thinking about. Because the exported pictures of Lightroom seem to be so different with other softwares. Although I can tell myself that only the colours in Lightroom is correct, I also fall in confusion time to time.
Fortunately, in order to solve this well known problem, Adobe has recently released the camera profiles of Canon and Nikon, and try to make Lightroom match the camera manufacturers' color appearance.
New camera profiles in combination with new 2.0 edition of Lightroom, will that give us the “right”/“normal” colour? I decided to do a simply test.
Here is a picture of fried rice, or in specific chili fried rice. BTW, I did it, and it’s good. It is a good sample because the yellow/red colour problem is biggest confused point of Lightroom. This picture was taken by my 400D and 24-70L, and set to the colour style “portrait” and colour space “sRGB” on the camera. You may review the exif for further information.
Sample 1. The original jpg file. (2.95MB)
Sample 2. Imported the same name RAW file to Lightroom 2.0 (Mac), made no change, and then exported it to a full size jpg file (sRGB). (4.96MB)
Sample 3. Imported the same name RAW file to Lightroom 2.0 (Mac), applied the camera portrait beta 1, and then exported it to a full size jpg file (sRGB). (4.60MB)
Sample 4. Imported the same name RAW file to Lightroom 2.0 (Mac), applied the DPP like preset, and then exported it to a full size jpg file (sRGB). (5.32MB)

Sample 5. Imported the same name RAW file to DPP 3.0.2 (Mac), made no change, and then exported it to a full size jpg file. (7.45MB)
Then all samples were copied to a PC, and resized for web posting on the quality of 100%.
According to these 5 samples, we can find sample 2 and 4 are with much more yellow but red than other 3 samples with Canon standard. Then sample 1, 3 and 5 are almost the same, so the Adobe Canon camera profile seems work well.
Since my sample picture is chili fired rice but curry one, it is obvious that the default colour style of Lightroom is not so correct.
I know this simple test provide little useful information, so that’s why I look forward all comments from you guys.
