A new oil specification WSS-M2C948-B with the viscosity grade 5W-20 has been approved for gasoline engines (except KA Ford, Focus ST and Focus RS). However, for a 1.0 3 cylinder EcoBoost engines it’s usage is mandatory while being fully compatible with older versions. Ford strongly recommends that it be used for all engines, having currently prescribed oils with the specifications WSS-M2C913-B, WSS-M2C913-C or WSS-M2C925-B.
