WTO membership 10 years later, Taiwan is in violation of the original WTO membership agreement, even if the 2009 part of the highway have been opened purely lie outside your country to inform care of public opinion through the law, it is indeed useless to try a variety of administrative procedures, assessment excuse, and even public announcement local authorities opposed to indefinitely delay the failure to do so deliberately created trade barriers

Taiwan's government suppress the living space of the motorcycle, which is very bad behavior. There is no difference between countries with undeveloped.

這是很無可奈何的一件事!雖說家醜不可外揚。

Taxes and tarrifs are equal but the on-road rights are uneven for automobiles and motorcycles. Basically, Taiwan government is anti-motorcyclists!

The traffic unit in charge of the Republic of China does not abide by the law, the degree of democratization and the rule of law have been seriously questioned

The local officials refuse to follow?
Because refused to keep up with international regulations.
This is obviously contrary to the initial entry join the WTO norms "must open the road right this requirement!

Taiwan is not a developed country, most of peoples are not follow the law at all, even no law concepts in their mind. They just do what they want to do....

Many things about motorcycles are ridiculous in Taiwan. Two companies which produces scooters help the government to make the most strict emission rules in the world, in this way, it's hard to import japan motorcycles to Taiwan. The government said they're protecting helping motorcycle industries, but 20yr passed by, nothing developed.... only scooters with new fairing which equipped old-gen engines.

Motorbike companies and their countries should know that motorbikes above 150cc are booming business in Taiwan. But the importing and examining process are long and confusing for most people, and I rarely hear anyone import their own bikes because somehow the failing rate of official examination of bikes are really high(and the fee too), just a huge amount of uncertainty to face if you are trying to import your own bike. So the importing companies take over and put down what price they think is reasonable, and they are about 2 times the price of bike in US. Why does this happen? Most people(including the government officials) are not familiar with the bike due to the fact that it's been only 10 year since they became legal to sell in 2002. Before they became legal on the streets of Taiwan in 2002, bikes ove 150cc were been banned for more than 20 years since 1979. So they are really conservative about this issue, any new change is a bad change. Taiwanese government simply lay-back on the regulations and safety improvement of roads when it comes to bigger motorbikes. Even though it was an agreement with WTO in 2002 to import bikes above 150cc, and promised to make new regulations and safety measures on the road for the bigger bikes(above 250cc), they were always delayed not to mention canceled by Taiwanese government, and now this news really puts the future of motorbike business in jeopardy. This does not only hurt bikers in Taiwan, but also the bike companies all over the world, the Taiwanese government are trying to kill a booming business and culture.

It's ridiculous, I couldn't never imagine that Taiwan's county governments have more power than the Taiwan's Legislative department!!!!
Unbelievable!!!
July 11, 2012
It's hard to ride bike in Taiwan.
We need fairness and justice. Year's accession to the WTO, Taiwan's motorcycle right of way is a trade barrier. Years passed still the same

I am so surprise in Taiwan you have this kind of fake democracy, or I can say rough democracy...how can Ministry of Transportation make the decision to deny the low,In most country like States,Switzerland or UK,
LOW is everything, every government unit is just to process not judgment, use the poll to make the decision is not right.....or can you use the poll to decide the salary of Civil Servants??????

US or Japan, or whoever it may be.
please come and takeover Taiwan RIGHTNOW
July 11, 2012
If the motorcycle highway law with conditions was able to ignore by Taiwan's government. Further WTO and FTO can be ignored and restricted by Taiwan's government in the same way.
Notice that motorcycle highway law is depended on WTO issue and passed by congress, We are sure if refusing the motorcycle highway law by Taiwan's government,WTO , FTO and further so on can not be expected

Taiwan is going backwards, rules are made to be followed, not to be broken. If the law enforecment is setting a bad example by igonring law maker's decision, how can you tell all citizens to obey the law ?? I don't think there should be any excuse, just follow the Constitution and the right that peopel had given to you, if the government still respect all that.
