Then, after Microsoft Word no longer complains, go read English newspapers like Washington Post or New York Times. Focus on the editorial columns and pay attention to how writters form and compose their sentences and how clear those sentences convey their messages. Understand an article, and try to express it in your own words and compare to the original. Think of a third way to express it again, and so on. Keep doing this practice and your England... sorry, English will surely improve much.
As for the girl, hell, just chit-chat. Remember, you have to show her that you are an interesting, positive and nice person, instead of trying to kiss up to her and being a "good man".
