that's right, but like i have been saying before, don't be surprised if CC wins it. a lot of people here thinks beckett will get it, but besides the 20 wins, CC has better number all around.
ok, here is what yankees pitching coach guidry said about why wang had a really bad day,
"He threw a lot more sliders than he normally does. I don’t think that’s his biggest ally. It’s a good pitch, but it’s not something that you want to do a lot, because his slider’s not his best pitch, compared to his two-seamer."
“They’re making him (wang) get the ball up. And when you pitch predominantly one way for a long, long time, all of a sudden, it takes you a while to understand what you have to do – if they’re changing, how do I change?"
“And I think he has to start learning how to throw his other pitches for strikes and then use his two-seamers to get guys out. Before, it was two-seamers, and they were swinging at them. They’re not doing that anymore. So you might have to change your approach to them, use the four-seamer for strikes, in and out."
“What I’m trying to explain to you is, when you’re trying to change all of a sudden because one thing is not working, you’re probably going to struggle, because that’s not your ability. So if you have to go away from what always works best, it’s almost like a learning experience. The only problem is, in a postseason game, you don’t want to try to learn something new.”
