For Adobe After Effects and other Video Encoding or rendering or Scientific calculations that could put all four cores at work, the Q6600 would be faster than the X6850.
For Gaming, the X6850 is going to be faster than the Q6600.
However, there is also another point. Say the X6850 is able to give you 120 frames while the Q6600 gives you 100 frames. That’s 20% faster. But does that help you win easier in you game? You might not even notice that 20%.
True, 20% does matters when the frame rate is between 30 - 60, but in this level of CPU, the limitations should be on the Graphics Card.
But for Encoding work, 20% faster IS 20% less time.

Sorry, it is 6800, not 6850.
So, it is usless data.
It's you who said 6800 :-)
