我的理解是
樓主訂了車，業務到交車的前沒多久才告知~~~沒車
台灣人的做法 --- 若沒在契約上註明，"xxx之前沒交車，就全額退訂"，
結果就是隨業務高興啥時給你車！
業務搞不好接了一張更優的單，把你的車先給了那個客人，而你沒加註 時間到沒車的處罰條款，那你只能傻傻的繼續等！
美國人的做法 --- 說好的時間沒貨，就是業務違約，告上法院說不定都把店都告倒了，最後老闆認賠，讓客人多花1000元買頂配(值5000)的車，並從原交車日期起提供代步車！
真是消費者的天堂呀！

If you made a deposit on a car without vin or a production number. You put deposit on a piece of paper. The dealer is not obligated to sell you that particular car. Each state has different interpretation of deposit on automobile. Generally it does not enforceable unless everything is clearly stated.
The dealer trade may not go through and dealer already pointed that out. Hence under such arrangement the buyer will have no legal claim. That is the issue here.
Deposit is very messy to enforce an subject to a lot of interpretation, that is why as general rule one should avoid such situation as possible.
