所以單就Used Car Verdicts差是可信的

Agreed. just because volvo have image of making safe cars, doesn't mean they can't screw up once in a while. Plus it is only one problem from a single model within entire model line of cars.
Single black spot is hardly a sabotage. especially if you look at some american brands.

要得到 Consumer Reports 的推薦要符合
1. 路試不可低分(consumer reports買下車子後測試人員測試後給分)
2. 可靠度調查結果(平均以上分數)
3. 撞擊測試分數良好

而 JD Power 的報告主要分三大類 Initial Quality, Perfromance, Dependability
Initial Quality
車主在擁有新車 90天內,回答問卷,將答案轉換成分數後,車輛得到的評價。所以是車主擁有車子三個月裡的"感覺"
主要問的是車輛各部分的品質好不好,設計上好不好用,有沒有壞掉東西

Performance
車主在擁有新車 90天內,回答問卷,將答案轉換成分數後,車輛得到的評價。所以是車主擁有車子三個月裡的"感覺"
主要問的是對於車輛性能部分滿不滿意

Dependability
2006年買新車的車主,連續三年擁有後,回答問卷,統計回報的問題數。

表面上結論的差距,不小部分大概跟評估方法、研究本身問的問題不同有關係

裡面給你什麼資訊,要自己去判斷。不要腦袋空空只看幾句結論,自己推論到錯誤的地方去

low brand recognition doesn't mean the car itself has very low reliability.
similar analogy, expensive luxury brands are not equivalent to high reliability and safety.

Volvo has been renowned for making remarkably safe cars, but the over all build-quality
has been critically criticized in every media.

I personally think subaru makes wonderful and reliable cars, but "in the big picture" it isn't a very popular car. People tend to purchase "other" cars which have bigger reputation instead of a subaru. A well equipped subbie can cost more than 30k, and most people add another 5000 dollars to buy an entry-level cars from luxury brands.

Similarly, I bought an evo x and I could definitely add a few more grands to afford a 135 or even 335, but I didn't. The over all quality of a mitsu isn't great, but it's bearable. Obviously I was aware of the "broken pedal" incident, and that became one of my major concerns before my purchase. But In the end I still bought it for its tremendous fun and satisfaction it has brought to me.

Consumer Report is a great source to help buyers to understand the "real-deal" of different items, not only cars but also other things. It provides very reliable and CREDIBLE feedbacks from real customers, and it is the main reason why it is so popular.

在美國,載小孩學才藝(或上下學)一般都是媽媽的任務,因此,MINIVAN 就專門負責這樣的工作 (可順便載鄰居的小孩一起去),一般男人比較愛開SUV、PICKUP 或 SPORTSCAR...

不過美國的才藝不像台灣這麼多元,足球、空手道等是較普遍的,所以足球媽媽指的就是這些負責接送小小孩的家庭主婦
