Actually I think these Toyotas become grow on me recently...

These Toyotas try to compete with other cars which are equipped with a little stiffer suspensions, if I put a stiffer suspension on them, the result could be quite rewarding. (Remember, I said that why Toyotas were softer... That's because they're superior!!!)

About 23 years ago I bought an 1995 Accord LX with a 5 speed manual transmission because many people said MT cars were faster than AT cars and I believed it!!!

After I'd driven that MT Accord for about 3 years and 45K kms(at least 70% in city traffic), one day I decided to race with a Civic AT from a stop light...

Accord : 5 speed MT, 2.2 130hp, 0-96kph in 9.xxs.
Civic: 4 speed AT, 1.6 115hp, 0-96kph in 10.xxs.

When the light turned green, I did my best shot. Guess what... 2-3 seconds later I even couldn't see that Civic's taillights!!! So, from then on, I NEVER buy any MT car!!! (Maybe MT cars are faster for you but definitely NOT for me)

PS: Of course, Ohlins suspensions are also cumbersome but at least they make me much more excited and happier!!!
In 2011 when my wife changed from 2000 Maxima (Koni+H&R) to 2010 M35X, she complained almost brand new M35X was unstable and difficult to drive. Actually 2010 M35X was as sporty as 530 at that time!!!

Another cumbersome thing is the sporty seats...

Actually the sporty seats in my GSF is still very comfortable and I didn't feel tired in very long trips. (Even with much stiffer Ohlins suspensions I still will not hesitate to drive my GSF for cross America travel)

However, the seats of my daughter's M35X did feel more comfortable especially when you tried to sleep on them. In addition, I don't race my GSF on public roads. So, most of the time they are useless!!! (However, if I race my GSF, I think I may need some more secured seats like racing seats with 4 point harness!!!)

PS: Of course, the sporty seats in my GSF are much more comfortable than those in M4 Competition. My wife complained her butts were hurt even just for 30 minute seating time in M4!!!

Another cumbersome thing is visibility...

For me, this is like MT which is cumbersome but also doesn't gain anything, either. Not sure why some people want to sit SO LOW???

Another cumbersome thing is tires...

Those big performance tires are fun but noisy(road noise). Fortunately, my GSF is like many Lexus which are very quiet on other noises like wind noise, etc.

The OEM tires 255/275 in GSF is really enough on the roads except I really try to race hack out of my GSF!!!

However, safety is always the first priority. My GSF is nearly 500hp and is equipped with a very direct and firm Ohlin suspension. So, I also increase the tire size to 275/285(also increase the sidewalls) for more secure and comfortable ride... I think this cumbersome is worthy!!!

You may ask me "Will I buy a performance car again???" My answer is "Definitely"

These Japanese performance cars are still very good at daily uses. I think those non-performance cars are also very good especially if you are willing to slightly modify them!!!

Another interesting thing...

During I was driving my MT Accord, my wife was just a little over 30. Guess what... One day my wife finally exploded and shouted at me "Your MT car is really unpleased ride!!! I will never ride in it again!!!" (I was just trying to be as fast as other cars on the roads. I hated keeping being passed by other cars!!!)

However, my wife have sit in my modified suspension cars for at least 17 years now including many full day road trips in Taiwan. Now she is over 50 and she never shouts at me, STILL...

Actually the most important is...

These Japanese performance cars could be as reliable and as easily maintained as Corollas!!! (That's really amazing!!!)

Today I tried to time 100-200 for a GT3 race car in Assetto Corsa. The below is the result...

GT3 race car : 6.xx
GT-R/NSX : 7.xx
GSF/RCF: 9.xx

I think my GSF is not bad even if it's compared with those track monsters!!!

GT3 race car : 600hp 1300kg (6.xx)
GT-R/NSX : 560hp 1720kg (7.xx)
GSF/RCF: 467hp 1770kg (9.xx)

It seems those GT3 race cars are not particularly fast, although they are super light-weighted.

I guess that's because those GT3 race cars may have a lot of downforce to let their tires stick to the roads. They may not be super fast on the straight but they are definitely very fast on the corners!!!
