Actually 370Z is more like Cayman, not 86 or RX-8...

(Of course, Z is still a Nissan and sometimes may get noisier and a little unrefined on the roads!!!)

OMG!!! Actually that "SOFT" 2006 Cayman S I drove in 2010 was the most fun and sporty Cayman so far!!!

(I think I better keep driving my Ohlins GSF...)

PS: I still believe GT4 should be better... (I really hope it does!!! )

This Z is not slow!!!

Of course, Cayman should be more precise and refined... (See how high Cayman's MSRP is!!!)

Please be noted this is a WIDE racetrack... On narrow mountain roads, I think some cars with stiffer rides like S2000 or even RX-8, 86 should be better...

This ISF is almost 440K kms and still rocks!!!

(I just hope my GSF can still be that good at one half of that mileage, 220K kms!!!)

According to this MT review, GT4 should have a very busy ride... (i.e. not soft anymore!!!)

However, it could be a bit noisy, just like GT3!!! So, I still think my current Ohlins GSF is more suitable for me. (4 door, stiff enough suspension, V8 sweet sound, Toyota reliability, quiet, big trunk, etc.)

Today my wife finally complained... "You're TOO FAST!!!"

(After knowing all those ride frequencies on suspensions, now I just cannot help!!!)

I think my current GSF is just like an endless DRUG... It's very fun, fast but never stops!!!

I think I may need to sell it in the future!!!(just for some peace of mind!!!)

I just found this video today which calculated ride frequency for BMW F3x with many different spring rates...

Guess what... Actually the results from this video are very similar to my calculations!!!

I really can't believe it... Actually I didn't mess up anything!!! (I'm not a car professional and did all those calculations by myself!!!)

I think God didn't forget me!!! I'm not smart but God did give me something different!!!

PS: You can also download the calculated spreadsheet in the comment area of the below video. Please be noted that my results didn't attend to provide EXACT numbers but some good estimates which provided the overviews on the stiffness of the suspensions in car industry...

The below is the latest...

Like I said premium or luxury cars usually have higher ride frequencies. (except GT-R)

The highest is premium performance cars. (Porsche GT4/GT3, M4, GSF/RCF, etc)

The second is premium cars which are equipped with sport suspensions. (M340i, IS350 F Sport, Q50S, etc)
Also, non-premium performance cars. (Type R, S2000, WRX STI, etc)

The third is sports cars which are not premium or luxury cars. (GR86, BRZ, etc)
Also, premium cars which are equipped with non-sport suspensions. (330i, IS350, Q50, etc)

The last is family cars which are not premium or luxury cars. (Camry, Altima, Passat, etc)

However, there is one exception that is Subaru but I don't think it provides similar ride comforts as those premium cars do... (Of course, some premium cars like Porsche GT3/GT4 may also sacrifice some ride comforts)

Besides, GR86 or GR Yaris should be a bit more sporty than IS350 F Sport or Q50S, as the dampers and the anti-roll bars from GR86 or GR Yaris should be much more aggressive(or less comfort)!!!

PS: GR Supra also has a higher ride frequency... (That's because GR Supra is actually a BMW, not Toyota!!! Similarly, 350Z/370Z should be an Infiniti, not Nissan!!!)

You also can find...

The higher ride frequency the higher MSRP!!! (I have to say Q50 is really a bargain in Taiwan!!! Q50 in USA is NOT cheap!!!)

I think now I understand what "GT" means...

GT = Higher body rigidity, higher ride frequency

Thanks to higher body rigidity, "GT" cars can provide higher natural frequency rides. It's not necessary that those GT car have stiff rides. They could have soft and comfortable rides, as they could adopt less aggressive dampers. However, their dampers have to be smart and effective to control those erratic stiffer springs no matter what. (So, the damper technology becomes very important!!!)

Actually, in my opinion, softer GT cars are more difficult to built than stiffer GT cars if their ride frequencies are similar and also quite high!!!
