So, now I know my Ohlins suspension is not under-damped...

Since the springs of Ohlins suspension are very stiff, I thought it should be a little under-damped. (Actually, that's just the way it is!!! High frequency rides will not be as same as low frequency rides... )

Now, I just need to choose how much comfort I want... If I want more comfort, I just set it to 9/14. If I want more track performance, I set it to 7/12... (Your settings may need to be even lower as my Ohlins is already 3 year old now and I personally also prefer a stiffer ride!!!)

Actually this guy in the below video said Ohlins dampers were very good and had much more damping force than what we needed... Now, I think I know what he meant, FINALLY...

Of course, those OEM suspensions are definitely more refined... (That's why those super cars are so expensive)

However, I paid about $4000USD + tax + labor costs to get a super car like ride... I think it's really worthy!!!

(Believe it or not... That bouncy Senna's msrp is about $1 million USD!!! )

IS350 F sport in city vs Q50S in city vs M340i in city

Although all these three cars have similar ride frequencies, IS seems to have least bouncing in city... BMW has less bouncing than Q...

Of course, if the ride frequencies are similar, the less bouncing the better!!! I think that's why Infinitis usually have better values than Lexuses... (Infiniti has to give more to compensate)

In USA I never owned a radar detector and never got a speed ticket, either... (But, now it seems I need one...)

In Taiwan I also never owned a radar detector but got some speed tickets. Actually at one time I got two tickets on highway in one day due to a set of brand new tires... (the new tires are slightly larger even though their sizes are exactly the same!!! Taiwanese cops were so picky!!! )

I also found Taiwanese were a bit smarter...

Believe it or not... At one time I had an about 600 km highway trip in Taiwan. I never speeding during that trip except one section which I followed another car and was speeding for about 1-2 minutes as there was only that car speeding during the whole trip. Guess what... I got a ticket just right at that section. I did the same in USA but never got caught so far...(However, I still need to be careful since sometimes there could be TWO cops at the same time!!!)

Ohlins suggests to rebuild their dampers every 20-30K miles or 32-48K kms... (Of course, I will NOT do that except I'm picky on 0.1 second lap time on tracks. I would do that after at least 5 year usages)

I wonder... Do those dampers in super cars also need to be rebuilt??? (as their ride frequencies could be even higher!!!)

PS: Maybe I'm worry too much as those super cars usually last much shorter than Toyotas!!!

I think Accord should have a lower frequency ride than IS and Q50... (It still bounces sometimes but slower)

GT-R Nismo's ride frequency should be at least about as high as 911 GT3's or my current GSF's... Are they more stable than my GSF??? Which one is the most stable??? (Please be noted some cars could be more stable or less bouncing but those cars' ride comforts may also suffer a bit if they all have similar ride frequencies)

PS: Coincidentally, both GT-R Nismo and 911 GT3 adopt Bilstein dampers

This is the most hardcore or expensive RCF... (It also bounces a bit if the road is bad!!!)

-------------

Not sure what this RCF's ride frequency is but it is definitely higher than regular RCF which is about the same as stock GSF's. Nevertheless, I expect its ride frequency should be about the same as 2015 or later GT-R Track edition, 10-12 GT-R or 911 Carrera S...

This is LC500... (It also bounces sometimes but very little and slower than F cars!!!)

Like I said LC500's ride frequency could be about as high as F Sport cars or a little higher... (But, LC500's ride is definitely more comfortable or refined even though it adopts KYB dampers)

PS: You only need those fancy European dampers if you bump your ride frequency to super car like high!!!

This is the most sporty car from Acura except NSX...

I think it's definitely not as stiff as a regular RCF. It should be about as stiff as Q50S... (it looks quite smooth in the video)

In addition, I also test drove a TLX Type S before... (But I do expect it should be more refined than Q50S)

PS: To compete with RCF, Acura needs a Type R, not Type S. But, why is Civic Type R only about as stiff as Q50S or IS350 F Sport??? Civic Type R is a Honda, not Acura... Actually, I think RCF Track edition could be about as stiff as a regular NSX!!!
