Today I did 1G again!!! (Maybe 1G is nothing for you but I'm an average driver with a WEAK heart!!! So... )

(Why did I do 1G only on that corner? That's because I could see the exit of that corner CLEARLY in advance!!! That's why I don't do stupid things most of the time!!!)

I also changed my Ohlins setting from 6/10 to 6/9 which is the stiffest setting so far. The ride was still not harsh at all. I would not say the ride is as comfortable as the stock ride. (Of course, it not possible due to much stiffer springs)

However, Believe it or not... I believe that except some really HUGE GAPS on the highways, my current GSF ride on the highway should be more comfortable than 2012 used GT-R in 2017 and a brand new 86 I tested in the past!!! I also believe the most of hard ride from Ohlins actually caused by its super quick or strong rebound damping on the rear... which means Ohlins stops those bounces TOO QUICKLY!!! (Of course, I can soften down a little on the rear for better ride...)

PS: Believe it or not... When I tested used GT-R and a brand new 86, I could feel some discomfort from the strong rebound damping even on smooth highways... So, I believe Ohlins is smarter as I didn't feel those discomfort on smooth highways!!! (Ohlins rebound damping is only activated on rough roads!!!) I also believe... When the road becomes rough, Ohlins rebound damping should be stronger or much stronger than any OEM dampers except some really expensive supercars!!! (i.e. more stable ride, not more comfortable ride, of course!!!)
I almost forgot my sister's MDX...

Again... Acura says MDX is a Premium PERFORMANCE SUV!!! However, in fact, MDX's ride is a bit more comfortable than Honda CRV and Pilot!!! Does Honda call CRV or Pilot a PERFORMANCE SUV??? (When I rode in Uber CRV and Pilot on the way to a local airport, actually I was quite surprised how stiff their rides were??? Believe it or not... On the highways they rode like my GSF's Ohlins!!!)

I think people need to learn how to tell what SUPERCAR's stiff is and what INFERIOR damper's stiff is!!!

PS: Please be noted the springs from my GSF Ohlins are about FOUR TO FIVE TIME stiff of Honda family cars like Accord, CR-V, Pilot, etc.!!! I also believe the springs from Acura performance sedans or SUVs should be about 20-40% stiffer than those Honda family cars'...

Why do I tell these here... That's because I'm plagued by those nonsense comments like Japanese cars are TOO SOFT for so many years... (I think recently they just changed their strategies... They said Japanese cars were TOO HEAVY!!!)

That's why I put those very stiff suspensions on my car since 2006 and tuned them to VERY STIFF damping settings, as I believed those stupid comments!!! (That's an idiot!!!)

Don't be fooled by those nonsense comments like me... (Why could nobody be like me and told the truth earlier in the past??? I'm just a nobody and writing some dumb program codes to make living!!!)

PS: Actually, if I hadn't believed those stupid comments, I wouldn't become so good at tuning my suspension in my GSF now... So, maybe I should say thank you for your stupid comments!!! Remember, every thing has pros and cons...
Believe it or not... Yesterday a new Accord tried to race with me??? (That Accord was just like son's new Accord!!!)

Not sure why??? Maybe the driver thought his/her was a NEW car. Maybe the driver also test drove some Lexus sport sedans and confirmed they're all SOFT!!! Maybe the driver believed F cars were just like soft Toyota... I don't know...

But, all I know is your car is TOO SLOW (except you put a lot of modifications in your car). Just like that old Civic, you will BLOCK me!!!

PS: Actually I also saw some fast M cars or Porsche but I will let them go, as we're all SIMILARLY fast. I will not be blocked... (Actually I don't race but follow them... And, I believe they will also be surprised how fast a F car is!!!)
Believe it or not...

Not to mention my current Ohlins suspension is like GT3 stiff, even the springs of GSF's stock suspension are TWO TIMES as stiff as Accord's!!!

The thing becomes even more unbelievable... Even at sport mode, the ride of GSF stock suspension is still more comfortable than Accord's when both hit those big bumps in parking lot!!!
Believe it or not...

The below BRZ(86) owner said the stock dampers were TOO STIFF or too much REBOUND which were not necessary!!! (Actually the ride frequency or springs of BRZ(86) were only about as stiff as Lexus IS, Q50 or TLX...

So, he changed those stiff dampers with Koni Yellow and set those new Koni Yellow to FULL SOFT!!! Then, he said the new ride was still fun but much more comfortable!!! In addition, the grip level was also increased!!!

PS: You may ask why IS, Q50 and TLX ride so much better... That's because all those premium sport sedans get superior dampers!!!

As my Ohlins settings were changed to 6/9(a stiff setting) about a few days ago, guess what... Today I checked the G-meter in my GSF, it surprisingly reached 0.9G even on daily driving!!! I never drove that fast on streets!!! So, stiffer dampers do let drivers become more confident... (The driver feels faster but actually not faster... Stiffer damping(Not stiffer springs) actually let the overall grip level a bit lower!!!)

So, you may ask how I know my GSF is not inferior damper's stiff but supercar's stiff??? Actually, I DON'T KNOW, EITHER!!!(I'm an average driver!!!)

However, I can still find it by DOING SOME CALCULATIONS!!! (Please see my previous posts in the below!!!)

Actually the best dampers are NOT from Ohlins... Definitely not from German, either. Actually, the best dampers are from Netherlands...

Yes. It's Netherlands. Koni is also from Netherlands but it's not the best. The best is from AST, JRZ, etc.

Netherlands is actually famous for its innovation, just like Israel. So, I believe damper design is more like ART instead of Engineering. That's why German, especially Japan are NOT the best!!! (Again, NO ONE is perfect!!!)

PS: However, I heard JRZ was not reliable. So, excellent but unreliable dampers may be very good on short-term track uses but definitely are NOT good on long-term road uses. Thank GOD, so far, all my previous Koni, KW, Bilstein dampers and my current Ohlins dampers were very reliable... Knock on wood!!!
I think I know what to do now...

For dampers, I should go as soft as possible... i.e. the SOFTER the better!!! (Firmer dampers will let you feel more confident and faster but actually you're SLOWER!!!)

So, I should set the dampers on the soft side and let these dampers do their jobs. (Of course, don't go too soft!!! The dampers should be at least as firm as the required damping forces which prevent those very stiff springs from bouncing!!!)

My GSF have very stiff springs already. So, just let dampers only do damping jobs, not be like springs, i.e. SUPPORTING the vehicle!!!

PS: Stiffer springs will also reduce some grips. That's why Porsche put a lot of aero kits on its GT3 cars. However, stiffer dampers are MUCH worse than stiffer springs!!! (You feel faster but actually you're much slower!!!)
